Mugen MBX6 clutch question?
#1
I am new to nitro. I have a MBX6 with Nova BF engine and 14 t clutch bell. I have a mugen fly wheel with new mugen black 3 shoes installed with 1 race day on them. I need info on current shoes/clutch system.
1. When do I need to replace the mugen shoes? (Measurement)
2. What shoes do you recommend?
3. Do you guys recommend a different clutch system.

hi i have the same car and engine and flywheel you have except i use the dynamite max life shoe's with .9 springs. i replace when the bevel part on the shoe is gone or about every 2-2.5 gallons. i see no need to run a different clutch if you are just starting out.

. Now if you want something that hits harder run the all alu shoes with 1.0 or .9 springs .9 is not going to hit as hard as the 1.0 springs. If thats something that you might want youll need the 34mm clutch. also unless your running on a large open track I would go to the 13 tooth clutch bell its going to give you a little bit more bottom end running the the nove 21 bf. If you go with the werks clutch system you will need to pick a new clutch bells because the mbx6 bell is to long. So something like a ofna bell works great. if you have any questions about the werks clutch feel free to ask me questions or any of the other Werks Racing Team Drives. If nothing else run the Mugen Clutch until its time to replace shoes and just order a new 4 shoe clutch system.

Resqnu I like the werks 4 shoe lite or med clutch the best. It gives you a lot more tuning options and the shoes last alot long. I have ran it with both alu and with 2 alu and 2 carbon shoes. it just depends what you are looking for. A good starting point would be two alu with 1.0 springs and two .9 on the carbon. What that does is makes the clutch not hit as hard and gives you less tire spin

Ben so far the only clutch bell that will not work is the Mugen Mbx6 and MBX6t bell and thats because its to long and will hit the tank with the stock motor mounts . So what you would want to do is find a bell with the larger rear bearing and you should be good to go.

so the losi bell will fit? has anyone tried this with the works clutch

no ... the ascendancy CBs have the 5x11 bearings in the 15T and up ... but dont have the 5x10 front, both bearings are 5x11 ... IMHO im getting way more life out of bearings and all with 5x10s , the bigger bearings seemed to fail more on me.
