From: Surprise! No, really.
I decided to get it from the horse's mouth. Amain PR Director says the GXII5RHO engines are in the warehouse now. Last time I asked about this it was another week before they appeared on the site, but this sounds positive.

+1 That is great news. Good to see all you GO users getting a fair crack of the whip.
As Craig mentioned the new 3 needle is a sweet deal. Improved insert on the throat for a stronger and better seal in the crankcase, slightly different factory mid range needle setting, plus new anodised throttle body.
You will like the performance difference.

Important information on the new MkII 3 needle carbs now coming out on the GO GXII-5RHO's.
This will apply to all new motors purchased around the globe - including the new A-Main stocks.
The factory has made some changes and the needle settings are completley different from the older MkI 3 needle carbs.
With the new GXII-5RHO stocks when running in from new, set the needles as follows:
HSN 1.25 - 1.5 turns OUT from flush
LSN 1.5 turns OUT from flush
After 8 tanks or so you can have leaned the needles to:
HSN .5 of a turn OUT from flush
LSN 1 turn OUT from flush
At the completion of run in (average 12 - 15 tanks) you will need to lean both needles a little further.
Race tune will depend on what fuel, plug and pipe you are running, so final settings will need to be done by sight and sound.
Enjoy

The MkII carbs have only been released from the factory in the last couple of weeks, so if you have an existing 3 needle GO carb it will be the MkI version.
The other way to tell is by the throttle slide. If it is chrome coloured it is the original MkI version carb. If the slide is black anodised then it will be the newer MkII version.
You can also remove the carb from the motor and check the insulator around the throat.
The original MkI carbs had a black plastic type insulator, the newer MkII versions have a new improved white waxy coloured insulator.
Unless you brought your motor in the last 5 days or so - you will have the original MkI version.

I bought my new gxII 5RHO from my shop last week. They have been backorder a week or so, so I thought it was the mkII carb on it. It wasn´t! Is the newer carb mkII much better than the "older" carb mkI?
So, what is the needle settings on this then, please?
