Go Engine USA 2011 Thread

well i wish ya the best trey....sometimes you gotta look out for #1.....i just hope amain/swift don't try to cut the throats of all the smaller GO dealers out there....i know there's more than one of them that don't have a physical "store front", but have online stores for customers to order from, and from what i've come to understand, amain won't distribute to any dealer who doesn't have a store front....bunch of crap is you ask me...if it wasn't for one of these smaller online shops giving me a chance to try GO power first hand, I would've never even thought about it...thank you Matt for showing me what GO was all about, along with showing ALL of your customers patience and respect!!!!

Thanks for the support, everyone... I'm not going anywhere, so I'll definitely be around. Hopefully I'll be able to do some racing while I'm travelling for work. I've got tentative trips pending to lexington, baton rouge, phoenix, detroit, and some other places over the next few months.
In-between I'm going to be trying some new stuff (buggies, tires, servos, etc.) and (FINALLY) getting track time in.
For those of you that are online only and cant get setup with amain/swift, I may have an alternative for you. I wont discuss it here (as it's off topic). However, you need a tax ID number in your state and can carry some consistent volume. Shoot me a PM and I'll get you in touch with the right people.

i think that was a good call trey! many people in the hobby dont come here to look for the GO engines, they go to hobby shops and cant find them unless they order for outside of US. this will only give GO ENGINES a better chance to prove them selfs to the genarel public with no excuses on where to find!!! I bought my 2 first GO ENGINES from you and still run them both with no problems! hope you stay in touch and continue to give advice to those who need it!!

Yes, all the best Trey, you got The GO engine motors re-established in the US and hopefully the quality and reliabilty of them will unhold there place in the market place.
We have our 3 hour enduro this weekend, I can't decide wether to stick with the GXII that's going really well or try Shanes new beast the "Grizzilla" .26 truggy motor.

Just a heads up bud
Make sure you have all brand new bearings in your diffs and the shimming is taught if ya gunna run a power house .26 in the Mugen Truggy Craig.
Keeping in mind I used to run a .25 GODZILLA in mine last year... learn from my mistakes bud.
The moment you relax on upkeep she will kill diffs

Cheers Flanno
I know someone will ask about the Grizzilla, so here's what it's about.
Up until this year, we have only been allowed to run .21 engines in truggy class. This changed in 2012 and now up to .28 is permissable, like most other countries.
That left a little gap in the market for us to fill, so we decided to release the Grizzilla.
Although the name is similar, it bears no resemblance to Massive Mod's hand modded beast the Godzilla - which I saw running at the FEMCA Truggy Champs in Queensland last year in Flanno's hands. That motor is impressive !!!!
Grizzly was the nickname I got given when I joined the Fire Service some 35 years ago. My surname is Adams, and the nickname came about from the TV show Grizzly Adams that was popular around that time (showing our age a little bit here
). Soon shortened to Grizz, the name has stuck to this day at work and outside of work (hence my user name). I couldn't resist the play on words, so the Grizzilla was born
Our mods are striclty "bolt ons" for simplicity and cost effectivness.
We have taken the GO Pro .25 6 Port motor and added the factory turbo head button, the new Gen6 3 needle carb, and will be trying a couple of cranks to find a nice balance between power and run time.
Just something a little special and a one off NZ production.
I think the motor will fit nicely into the market here, offering more power than the .23 motors with hopefully very similar run times. The 6 Port sleeve also offers excellent mid and top end power for a motor of this size, so it should be a cracker

Hi Grizz, try the GX11 crank in it as another bolt on upgrade
I'm sure that will give ya what your looking for as a bolt on crank option you mentioned above, no hand modded bits, just upgrades like the turbo button and carby on an already stump pulling engine, but just a little livelier

There is a GXII crank sitting next to it in the garage as I type Flanno
Will run some tanks with the existing crank first so we can do a comparison, then slot the lighter modded GXII crank in for a spin.
I am running the last MG66 I had in stock, wth the GXII crank and 3 needle carb as my big event motor this year. What a beauty

Oodles of strong smooth power from start to finish. Improved bottom end pull, with the insane top of the original MG66, helped along by the better fuel delivery of the Gen6 carb. This motor has that crisp animal growl you get when everything is working in harmony. With our dry dusty track at the moment I have fitted a steel flywheel Ascendancy 4 shoe to tame the beast a little, as my throttle finger control leaves a lot to be desired when this motor is in the buggy

For anyone out there with an MG66 still in primo condition, I can seriously recommend these upgrades.

Knew you would think of it, just thought I'd mention it anyway.
As far as still having any MG66's in primo condition laying around....
I think I may have one or two here some where
a 2009 and a 2010 MG66X still going strong, no 2011 model as I ran the .25 GODZILLA last year, and running the .21 GODZILLA near the end of 2011 and this year too
GODZILLA in Truggy and MG66 in Buggy for 2012

I'm still running the MG66 in my buggy.. I have the GXII crank fitted, a pair of Mark's modded needles in the carb and the top of the range ultra lightened max power rod .. an absolute screamer.. hoping to try the new carb on it at some point from grizz1.. awesome engine. Still getting 10m20 + runtimes too.. hoping the new carb will allow me to stretch that to 11m+ so I have some leeway for 10minute pitstops.

The 3 needle enables you to lean the top end some more without the lean bog issue, plus it just has better fuel delivery with the mid range fuel tube and larger throat. The needles are not as sensitive as the GX carb either. Changes equate to 1/4 turns as opposed to screw driver blade widths
