Ordering up my Agama buggy for the new year and will be running my gxii....cant wait.....have heard alot about how the stock gxii carb restricts alot of power and whatnot.... Not mine lol...i run it in a losi 2.0 truggy with a 6.5 restrictor and the 2072 pipe and its awesome....even guys had trouble clearing a certain tripple at this years nats with the gxii and all motors but the os speeds ofcourse ,in buggy or truggy...i had no problem clearing it at all in my truggy....i will most likely continue to run go engines in 2012 as long as i can get them cheap :sneaky:

That's a shame. Its all GO here.
Its not so much the two needle carb restricting the power. The stock GXII is still a weapon, and I guess some people will prefer to stay with the 2 needle, as it's what they have become used to now. The 3 needle with it's bigger throat and better fuel delivery through bottom and mid range just makes more power, gives a stronger idle and more bottom end snap.

Oops - double post.

it may be awhile before we get them here due to a possible U.S. distributor change.....i just hope if we get a new one, that ALL the folks that currently deal GO will be able to continue doing so with no worries (unlike what happend when a major hobby shop in the USA got the rights to distribute Techno-Power :flaming:)....if this happens and i can't get them localy....there could be a motor change in my future....

From what I am told, the GXII-7 is on hold while GO introduce a .21 on-road motor in 2012 (as well as some helicopter motors too i believe).
Sounds like something new may pop up in the off-road field late in 2012, but what that will be is not general knowledge as yet, and may not necessarily be a 7 Port, so your guess is as good as mine.
If I hear anything over the next 6 months that is up for public release, you guys on here will be the first to know :)

That's my concern as well! If I lose my status as a retailer, I'll be looking for a different engine line myself. It's really too bad accually because these are great engines! I've been running them for close to 4 years and I'd really hate to have to switch engines now.....Only time will tell, I just hope someone is nice enough to give us (the retailers) some sort of heads up so we can keep our customers up to date on whats going on and our customers don't lose interest and go somewhere else.:(

I hope that if there is a distro change the new one will know the history. The big online route has never worked for Go. It has only grown in the US by smaller, high quality, dedicated resellers who care about their customers and the reputation of the motors.

On the topic of team drivers, if there is a distro change, it would explain why drivers are not getting the sweet deals they might find with another brand which is trying to advertise heavily and make a name for themselves. We race year-round in Arizona and I'm watching this play out. I also think changing distros would have been better handled earlier in the year, as most pro drivers have signed with new teams for 2012 by now. As others have said, as long as the motors are still available, high quality, and competitively priced, there will be plenty repeat customers here. The one thing I would recommend to Go owners from past experience is to get your spare parts and motors now if you see the need arising in the next couple months, in case there is any temporary shipping/supply disruption during a big race or the start of your season.

Quite understandable Grizz1, all that Christmas cheer!!:)
Reading through the forum, and I hope GO establish a good chain of suppliers
World wide, such as yourself. Too true, the product is only as good as the local supplier,ie: good service and product knowledge, on too many occasions, local suppliers are let down buy sole distributors rights of one importer into the country. I am sure you can relate to where I am coming from.
Keep up the good work Shane, it is a pleasure dealing with you.

Yes, we are looked after well down our way, I hope you guys in the US get someone who is as passionate about the brand as Shane is.

Yep, best to stock up now as the Chinese New Year is the last week in Jan.
This normally means big delays in orders and processing by the time the factory gets up and running again.
Thanks for the positive feedback guys

HI Grizz1,
Received the carbies today. Have not been able to run on the track yet, due to it being a lake instead of a track because of our wet season. After a tank full to get some heat into the chasis,( doesn't take long at 33deg C and 70% humidity) tuned the settings to:
LSN : Flush
HSN : 1 turn in
Idle gap : .7 of a mm.
2072 GO Pipe
7.5mm restrictor
( and didn't even think of touching the 3rd needle!!)
Running a 97T O'donnell Plug
25% NEO + fuel.
Standard TEAM ASSOCIATED AIR CLEANER on a RC8B Buggy.
Found the idle a little easier to tune than the 2 needle carby, noticeable low end snap improvement and smoother mid range power. Quicker to reach top revs, and the buggy seems easier and smoother to drive.
A run around a track will show it's true colours, but it certainley seems to have brought out the best in the GX11 motor.
Thanks Mate.
PS. Enjoy the video:nod:

So I may have missed it in the thread somewhere but does the new 3 needle carb work with the older version motors like the gx5r or the older silver head? And if so what kind of performance gains are people actually seeing?
