My son has been running the Arrow for a few weeks now and I couldn't be happier! Break in was a nuisance but it was well worth it.....

Ran a Arrow this weekend and Im very impressed. Motor ran strong just wished my driving would have been better...

Finally got to take the new engine to the track for a race this weekend, but had a issue.Got exactly3/4 of a brand new gallon of Byron Gen2 30% through motor ran 2 5 min heat races but it started flaming out. Its the brand new moddified version. Would not stay idling, I didnt want to lean it to much it never got over 190 degrees, Did a perfect breakin because it is well worth it, and It has lost compression. Took it to the shop and they confirmed it. I showed them all of my notes from the break in and they have no answer why? Has anyone had any issues yet. I was documenting everything from the start of the break in so i could see just how many gallons I could get. I was soo happy till now. Just ordered new stock piston sleeve, back to the drawing board. Everything was sealed, did it just how Ive done for the last 8 years never had an issue.

Even the best of us get a little dirt in a angine, I would guess you got some dirt in it. Even not broken in correctly it should not have lost compression that fast. Your piston and sleeve is probably still fine with a resize. Even though I did not sell it to you send it to me and I will fix it for just the cost of the return shipping. my address is on my website www.rw-mods.com

Make sure you keep the engine at about 225'f during break in. After break in, run it at 225-280'f. Running an engine under 200' will wear it out.

Send back the engine for inspection/repair and I will check it out for any manufacture deffects.

Hey guys how long are these lasting as far as gallon wise if taken care of properly?and what engine would you compare it too as far as power, runtime, and longevity? And my final question is does the new version have the rod with an oiling hole to prevent crank pin wear?I just helped my freind break in the new version a few days ago and it runs great but havent actually taken it apart or ran it on the track so i have nothing to compare it too.I want a new motor for this season and want a good motor for the price. Thanks for any replies.

Rex i greatly appreciate that, that is very generous of you. It was a bad weekend, the motor, and yesterday I unpacked everything and found that my foldup table tiped over and landed on my DX3R radio and cracked the screen. Wow what weekend. I have already ordered a new piston sleeve and rod. Gene got my fixed. One question, I have never done the sleeve pinch process, being a new motor (brand new) and Im tryng to get that confidence in it. Does the resizing last as long? Thanks again everybody, you guys are a huge help!

Resizing will usually last as long as new parts but without much break in. There are many variables though, too hot, lack of heat, fuel, dirt, etc.

I have a OS carb how much difference will it be than the arrow? Have heard the motor screams with OS carb.

bigjayjay1 09-08-2012 09:16 AM

There has been no talk about the modded arrow since its release. The arrow in stock form for me has a weak bottom for what I've seen is the mod version an improvement

gofast072 09-10-2012 03:52 PM

i like the 2013 werks pipe on the engine it brings the bottom alive but still pulls hard down the straights, this past weekend i was one of the few truggies at the track that could clear the triple, i run a stock arrow in both buggy and truggy. I think more to do with anything is these engines are pretty touchy on the tune.
