I feel for ya, but for a "warm" state it was pretty darn cold on raceday morning...about 32 deg. and in an open-sided horse arena which keeps NONE of the heat in! Still, we are blessed to be able to run almost year-round here in NorCal. Now for my report as promised...

The A5 screams on dirt just as it did during break-in on asphalt! It's still not completely race-tuned, as I admit I'm babying it a bit AND it keeps getting richer as it continues to break in, but for the first time out it was wicked fast...easily as fast as my modded A52 for sure. It seems much smoother, and coupled with the WERKS Pro clutch it cranked my truggy right along in fine fashion. The main difference I've noticed is the idling...the A52 is a cold blooded beast, and at the best of time never wants to idle real consistantly...whereas this A5 has a nice smooth idle that seem like it could go on for ever...no kidding...I'm super impressed! I went 9 minutes conservatively on pit times in my A main, and had no problems. I expect to get 10 easy once she's fully tuned for racing. Bottom line guys...give these new Argus engines a serious look...I absolutely love mine and on a tight technical track there is no equal. Also if you haven't done so give Lance's mod job a shot...you'll be as impressed as I am...and if you aren't...I'll buy the engine off you!!

Ofta that sucks. We still dont have any snow here in MN, one day over X-Mas weekend we had a high of 40*. There is a local indoor track with there outdoor track still intack. I might bring the 1/8 nitro and burn some laps in the waiting time.

Hey geezer what pipe are you using? I have the stock a52 with the
0801 and its super jumpy on bottom end. I also have a modified Lance special with the 2090 pipe and I love how it idles and the bottom is not overly punchy. Ill have to retune the stock motor to the 2090.

Add CB teeth to used 0801 pipe when you feel over on bottom end.

Kevin, I've been using the 0801 on both engines and really like it. Now that Lance has finished testing it I'll probably pick up a 2090 just to see the difference. On our tight indoor track the bottom end from the 0801 is really nice, and then this summer when I can really open it up on our outdoor tracks is when the 2090 will help as it moves the power band up a bit as I understand it from Lance. But I think both pipes will work well on these engines. Nice to meet another Team Terribles racer!!
