I am looking into getting one of these motors & After trying to read through over 60 pages of info, Im just going to ask this question.. Pipe selction for the A52 motor, Ive read good results with different pipes, of course track and tune plays a part as well. Would you say the motor is a strong bottum end motor and needs more of a mid to high pipe like a 086 for example?? I have been out of the hobby for a while and am used to 086, jp1,jp2 and jp3 pipes, never had anything else. Ohh, and i see several places to buy these motors, who/where do you recommend for best price and customer service.. Thank's..

I tried several pipes. The JP-4 was pretty good, but the 0801 really is THE pipe to go with..

After trying the others, then getting around to the 0801, it was like "OK, THAT pipe allows this engine to do what it can do best.." Just a nice match. Had to admit, all the talk here about the 0801 was spot-on.

Well just like the other comments, the 0801 did it for me too. I tried Dynamite, Werks and OS pipes but none worked as good as the 0801.

As far as the best place to buy the A52, I would say get it from Lance (Rcrenew.com). Even though I did not get mine from him, but seeing how involved he is with this thread, as well as the care he takes to answer some of the people's questions, I would not expect anything less than stellar customer service from him.

Stock venturi whatever's in it, and 0801:

Still during break-in. This pipe is THE pipe for the Argus. I had a JP-2 once, and it was THE pipe for the LRP Spec 3.. But for a 21 IDK.. JP-4 is good.. I'm still in break-in, and didn't run the JP-4 very much, but it kind of seemed to me that with the JP-4 it was a bit softer, maybe a tad smoother, but with better run time.. I like the power of the 0801 though. Run-time is overrated IMO.

ps Here's a short clip with the JP-4 - 5-8 tanks earlier during break-in I think..:

In the UK they sell the Argus as a combo with the JP-4, so it's definitely a popular match..

Forgot about that.. Don't have a 2058, but want one.. But then they cost $100 and aren't available on my continent unfortunately.. But yeah, from what I see and hear they seem to be a good pipe on lots of engines.. Do they really make an Argus rev more though? My Argus is still not fully broken in, so it's probably just too early to say.., but so far I would like some more top-end out of it..

I think so...watch my Argus video and listen to the RPM and judge for yourself ... I have not seen any other Argus or Alpha on video rev that high ! also my video is only on the 2013, the 2058 was noticeably better.......

edit: I Should add that my own engines operate with different timing and compression then a stock engine, these changes I make can have an effect on which pipe the engine likes best....So in other words what works on my modified version may not work quite the same on the stock version.....The 2058 works killer on my engine, but I cannot say how it would run on the stock engine....usually what works on the mod works good on the stock, but not always..usually depends on how altered the modified engine as opposed to when it was stock...

The Argus and Alpha engines Reallly do well with the F0801, sh 3033, Alpha 2090 and 2081. Have not tried the 2058. But the enigne has a lot of power so you can get away with running a lot of different pipes but with the recommended pipe it will be at its top performance and mileage. But the Jp-2 will work fine until you can get another pipe, and I would day would work better than a 086.

In truggy we run the stock 8mm and in buggy we run 7mm. I have only seen A-plus make the F 0801. But I do have to say we have been testing the Alpha 2090 with the replaceable stingers and the pipe really work well. Kinda like having a F0801 and a 3033 all in one just change the stingers and bottom and top end is changed and mileage is proving to be awesome as well.

Lance I cant wait to get that new engine in my car. Now an open question to all that may have or want to have. I just bought the modded A52 race preped with the 2090 pipe. Which motor do you think should be matched up to which pipe? My stock A52 now has the F0801 and the Modded A52. Should i run the modded with the 2090 or the 0801? I will have limited good days to run as winter is approaching.
