On May 14,2011, team driver, Lance Heidman took his Argus powered Hot Bodies truggy to a 3rd place finish at the Agama Challenge race in Ontario California. Way to go Lance! Lance is also the owner of www.rcrenew.com

Just an FYI - If you switch from OS plugs to Odonnell plugs, you are going to run the risk of having a leak out of your button head after you make the switch. OS and Odonnell plugs have very different thread patterns and I've seen many people (including me) have a compression problem once they've switched from OS to OD plugs. Funny thing is, if you use OD plugs first and then switch to OS plugs, there is never a problem. The compression problem only happens when people use OS plugs first, then switch to OD plugs. Ed Bridges of EBMods has confirmed this for me, so it's not just hear-say.

Thanks! Engines are running great, Got 4 galllons on my truggy engine and still going strong, I have to say this is a very fast engine
I have not had anyone who had any more power than me and I actually had a lot more power than most other guys I have been racing with. And on the strasights I end up pulling just about everyone halfway down the 130 ft straight the Argus just keeps pulling while most others fall off.
Guys are really starting to pay attention and actually give the Argus some big respect After they have seen them run for a few moths now. Also the fuel mileage is great. Stock can easily do 10 minute pits in truggy. NO flame outs, no issues just a killer reliable engine. Its nice to race and know your engine is not going to let you down.

ok i didn't think this motor could get any better but today this motor ripped hard and was able to go even leaner on the bottom end i even had one of the guys dads at the track today ask what motor i was running as a past his son like he was standing still down the straight after i stopped to let him past and then pulled a car length on him hehehe was a good feeling when i told him and to see the look on his face like the visa ad says priceless.... lol

Well I know the F0801 works great, it has a little more top end than the 2081 but to me feels the same on the bottom and mid, the SH 3033 Actually works very well on the Argus as well. BUt these 3 pipes are the best so far from eveything I have tried and Pretty sure Jonathan had the same feelings as well from what they have tested.
For myself and a few of my fellow racers running the Argus we have had rediculous top end with ours. like I said before it seems like they keep reving and end up pulling a lot of other engines down the straight at about 3/4 of the way on the straight is where they will always seem to pull away.I am running the 2081 along with 2 other racers and another guy is running the F0801.
What chassis are you running it in?

I to am running a 2081 on mine. Really feel this engine loves to pull down the straights. We have a pretty long straight at our home track and that engine does very well top end wise. I am interested in trying a 801 soon. Now I have found that my Argus likes the 250-260 range in terms of temps. When I run it there she likes to get after it. Is that the range other Argus Owners are finding? I know the Alpha guys said their engines were in that range as well locally where we race.

I have come from a go engine background, and the 2072 pipe was the best performance, i am using it with the Argus and its going great. I got some of the 0801 black pipes with the last order which i will do some back to back testing with and let you know what i find. From what i have heard the 0801 gives better run times.
We did do some comparisons with 2 identical buggies, 1 running the Argus, the other had a Massive Mods MG66, the MG66 is well know in New Zealand and Australia for being a very smooth and powerful engine, well the Argus was every bit the match for it
and if our straight was longer the Argus would be ahead, not to mention the Argus is $100nz cheaper
A modded version of the Argus must be pretty impressive

I have the 2057 on the Losi truggy now, but like I said the 2081 on truggy just did not have the top I need. Usually Im really not too picky on stuff either, I always just say if it goes "run it"...haha...Now I have the 2081 in my buggy and it pulls great all the through the power band. I will try the 2081 again on truggy and lean the top end a bit and see what it does as my temps have only been at the 235/240ish range, and you guys are saying you have good top end with 2081. Definately will try and find a 801 just too see for myself. Overall really liking these mills after a couple gallons

My race temps out here have been about 250 That seems to be where mine like to be ran. Any cooler and it is not at its full potential, especially on the top end. Maybe thats why your seeming to want more top end? try and lean it out a bit more and see how it goes.
AT 250 mine still has great smoke trail, no flame outs and internals look great. These are not a 220 running engine like some others. these like to run from 240 -260 on a nice warm day running hard at a race pace.
And yes our modded one we have been running as well is just more rediculous on the mid and top end while runtimes seem to be about 1:30 to 2 minutes more. I did some testing last week and At a full race pace ran 4 back to back tanks with Werks 30% fuel, Rc-Pro #5 plug and 2081 pipe I can consistently get 10:40 in truggy.
When we switched to our modded version we did the same thing and ran 4 tanks at full race pace and I was gettin over 12 minutes each tank on the track. time ranged from 12:30 to 12:50 which really blew my mind.
Needless to say a couple guys were watching us do this and ended up buying a couple after they saw that...lol
WE will be doing some more testing and keep you guys posted. I want to try it again with the F0801 pipe and the sh 3033 next and see which pipe yields the best mileage with the modified engine.
