I have just ordered one of these, would a JP4 be a good allround pipe for it in a buggy or truggy?

I dont know about the JP4 but I do know the ones that I have tried, and as of right now the 2057 has been the best for a smooth bottom and a screaming top. All around best pipe I have used and still using is the 801. Also the 2035 and the 2013 work really well also. These have all been tested in a truggy.....

To me the 2057 takes too much away from the bottom in truggy, Buggy its ok. 20801 or f 0801 seem to be best all around to me. BUt i like a lot of bottom end. With e 0801 pipes they are kinda the whole package. The 2013 does work decent though like you said. Thats the great thing about this hobby. so many options!!!...lol:sneaky:

If you can find an 801. I still haven't found one in stock in the U.S. for over a month. Have any in stock yet?

Pipes were supposed to be here last week, but havent arrived yet. We should have them in next week. we are going to start carrying the 2081 instead of the f0801. They put out more power on the lower to mid rpm and have the same xlnt fuel economy. So I think we are going to stick with that pipe.

Thanks,

In the championship I drive I have to use a pipe with an EFRA-Code. Which of the EFRA pipes is the best one to choose. Seems that the 2081 is ok, is there an alternative?

I will start breaking in my new argus.
1) I usually run a OS P4 plug. Will it be ok to break in with that plug? A P3 would be better?
2) Since I could not see any instructions in the package, there is an extra head sim included - should I use for break-in? And if yes, for how long? Entire break-in?

Thank you,
Vagelis

Got the final break in done on my Argus and I must say it seems to rip. Rex did 2 tanks, on the break in bench, I did 2 tanks on the box, then 2 tanks on the track at the Sandbox Arena in New Richmond, WI. After that, leaned the top about 2 hours and she is humming allong nicely.

Running the 801 pipe and a O'donnell 87T plug and it has a great amount of mid-range and is very linear. I had some concern about how the powerband would be in a light buggy (JQ car) and it seems to be very smooth.

Definatly looking forward to some track time.

The sandbox let you drive there eh? I always thought about bringing the nitro with when i go ride mx there for when they do mid day intermission.

Cheers for the help on the pipes.

What glow plugs are you running?

rider313 03-10-2011 02:10 PM

I have the o'ddonell 97T in mine. Not sure what everyone else is using.

The P4 will be fine, But we mostly use the P3 plugs. The P3 plug will be better for break in as well.

And yes, install the extra shim for about 10-15 tanks then remove it. The rcpro plugs and werks plugs seem to last a lot longer than the OS plugs. The #5 is like a OS P3 and the #6 are like the OS P4

Started beaking-in with heat cycle method...
wow....
even though I am not experienced in break-in (my 4th engine...), I can say that it is very very easy to get the engine started and running in the appropiate temp!!!! Just preheat the engine and go!!!!

Thank you,
Vagelis
