That's what someone else told me too. Both are made in Italy so who knows.

Just to avoid any possible confusion about this our plugs are made in-house at LM (the same company that manufacturers our engines) and they do not do business with Argus/Alpha/GO. So not the same plugs.

also to lessen any confusion our plugs are made in Italy but not done through Argus/Alpha/GO either nor the same factory that Werks uses.

Lol, you should have mentioned that from the get go and no one would have been confused;) But now I'm confused if the plugs are nit done by Argus/Alpha/Go what brand are you selling them under?

Since I didn't know who did your plugs it was hard to say if we both used the same place or not. They are done under our RC Pro Products Voodoo brand.

LOL It doesn't matter to me if they are pink with purple pokey dots as long as they work as well as they do.

Either way, the RC Pro plugs are working out great for me... and with the cost, they are two to one better. LOL

Any of the team drivers run a OD 87t yet or are all of you running the voodoo #5 ?

I do not think anyone has tried the OD 87. To my knowledge, we have only tried P3 and the Voodoo #5. I just stuck with the Voodoo because it worked as well and was cheaper. I do not see any reason that the OD would not be a good choice as well.

right then, i started at the beginning of this topic but after 5 pages on Go engines & arguing about who builds what for who i thought it would be easier to just ask

whats the deal with these engines then?
i've been sent one to run but wanted to find out if it was worth running or should i just send it back

are they reliable? ie what are the carbs like? do they start cutting out after about a gallon?
i see it has a turbo head. which plugs are best suited to the taper in the head? Novarossi type angle or the OS & Sirio type angle?

do they get good runtimes & what pipes do they like?

plenty of questions eh

its just that i wont be doing many meetings before the neo race & i dont want to go there & have the meeting ruined by a cheapo engine that doesn't run properly

These are brand new to the US. We have been testing them for several weeks and absolutely love them. They are built in the same factory that Alpha and Go engines are built. The are not similar to Go, but are similar to the Alpha. They have different port timing, crankshaft different, carb a little different. The carb has two o rings on the needles, crankshaft is black hardened.

Just because an engine is built a the same factory, it does not mean it is the same motor. I ran Go engines, Alpha, Argus, and Ninjas. Just to let you know what I think....I have a brand new Ninja sitting in the garage. I left it sitting after trying Alphas. I loved the Alpha engines and was talked into doing some testing with the Argus. I now have an Alpha up for sale (not that anything at all is wrong with the Alpha) because I like the Argus better. I will not mention the Go....I heard that they have made big improvements and have not run this engine in two years.

I tested the one engine and purchased four more yesterday. I would not have done this if I was not satisfied that this is a Great Engine.

During testing, we only tried the OS P3 and Voodoo #5 plug. Both plugs have worked exceptional in all four test motors. I have over 5 gallons on my original Argus and have not had the first issue. I am running the A Plus 801 pipe. I personally think that this will be the best all around pipe. I had practice runs of over 12 minutes (on a buggy) and consistently have gotten over 11 in races. I am running a 7 carb insert. Another racer with truggy, but same engine set up, ran out on final lap at almost 12 minutes.

Out of the other three test motors, several pipes have been tried and different inserts. You can read back through the thread to see some of the results. Everyone is getting over 8:30 run time easy, but the 801 seems to be better without the sacrifice of power.

I hope that this answers your questions. If not, ask more, and someone will answer them. You will be very happy with this motor. They tune very easy and seem to hold a tune as well as anything I have run. We run a race two weeks ago and the weather dropped approx 20 degree between the last qual and my main. I think I adjusted the hsn approx 1 hr to get my wanted tune back.

how much are the Voodoo glow plugs going for?

jjenkins 01-22-2011 06:56 PM

I think the voodoo plugs retail for about 8 bucks. I know in the motors we have run them in the have worked great!

And to supercross, we have had nothing but success from the Argus engines. I really think you will be satisfied with them.

supercross 01-23-2011 02:05 AM

thanks for the helpful reply, it certainly sounds like its worth a try :)

what are the carbs like? do i need to just use an RB/Novarossi/OS carb straight away?
