Yes the Go rod will fit, Novarossi will also fit. Make sure the crankpin is within spec, the only rod failures I have seen the crank and rod were worn badly. I consider under .194" getting pretty worn.

Yes but anytime you are switching between brands everything needs to be looked at like backplate clearance etc.

I ran the Argus D52 .21 for the 1st time This weekend and i must say this engine is the smoothest engine i have Ran with hands down.. Looking forward to 2015 running Argus engines!

"Smooth"?.. I thought the D52 was supposed to be pretty explosive?... (Which is why I would want one... ;) "Smooth" is a word I'm skeptical of...

I think it is how "smooth" is used. When I hear "smooth" I think about the entire band. "Explosive" meaning it has a ton of bottom and kicks it out of the gate with low end grunt. It can be "explosive" and "smooth" in this case. I have not ran the new version of the D52, but ran the older version (2010) and would say it was "explosive" out of the gate, but a nice "smooth", consistent power band.

If you plan to run it in a buggy, I do not think you will be disappointed.

The D52 is a great balance of power for a buggy. Some also like it in a truggy also but it wouldnt be my first choice in a truggy. The new 3 port should be even more "smooth"

Which .21 in truggy then? (I already know the .23 is awesome...)

Also, isn't the D52 the same as the B52? Just rebadged for different markets or something?....

The R8 is a great engine in Truggy. I raced one last season coupled with the 801 pipe. Very good combo for running Truggy. In buggy I think the A5 works very well. Great value too. I have tried other buggy engines and keep going back to my A5.

Herrsavage 12-31-2014 07:41 AM

I remember when the B52 came out, it was supposed to be even gruntier than the A52... I have the A52 and like it a lot.. Not really run it in truggy yet on a track though..
I thought the A52 was more or less the orange S852 Alpha, and the B/D52 was the A852...

tcb22185 12-31-2014 08:51 AM

I had a Chance to run it last Sat in Truggy. Was Great In my Sperpent 811. Then Sunday i put it in my Serpent 2.1 Buggy and was very happy with it. I have had Engines that are Explosive and i did not like them. This engine Felt very smooth in my hands. I'm the Type of guy that will take Run time over power. Give me a good 3 port that is smooth and some run time. Ill get the job done.

Herrsavage 12-31-2014 08:58 AM

I'm the opposite. Don't race much or too seriously. It's anachronistic I know, but what I want is POWER.

Just a reminder, Argus is looking for a few drivers for 2015. Send a resume to [email protected]

Happy New Year!
