The D52 is a bit smoother and a little more top end. I ran a D52 in my car last weekend. I lapped mine, 2 tanks on the bench (alot of heat cyles) Went out for practice and started tuning on it. Didnt miss a beat all day! I forgot to change the plug so I ran the stock T3 plug all day too.

Kendall ran a modified R8 in his buggy (in video above) And a stock R8 in his truck. He Tqed both truggy and buggy at Mnrc rd1 and ended up second in both. Fuel mileage was great also as the heats were 6 min. and had lots of fuel left.

These engines are definitely not temperamental like some others. I haven't ran my .23 in a week or so but it hasn't given me any problems when time to fire up and runs comfortably long as there's fuel going through it.

Congrats to Kendall.

Have you had a chance to try both engines in a truggy? Does the R8 have more bottom end then the D52 or does the smoothness of the D52 mask an otherwise strong bottom end? Im on the fence between the 2 but leaning towards R8.

I have not personally ran the D52 in a truggy, the R8 should have more bottom by a bit and I would recommend the R8 in a truggy. The D52 would work also but the R8 should be a bit better.

He ran the Tb-1 on the truck and a 2058 on the buggy. I told him to try a 0801 on the truck but he didnt.

Argus D52: http://youtu.be/MrRecTRP5_U

About 8-9 tanks of the bones brew break in fuel thru it. Ready for a race tune. Approx 80-90 broke in. I'll finish tuning the motor in this Sat at the CRI summer series. motor still has the T3 plug that came with the engine. 801 pipe. Thought I would share

Kemdall liked it but did not try any other pipes. The buggy engine was modified.

Great sharing and videos. Got 1qt of bines brew breakin fuel through my R8 on a breakin bench. Real easy to break in! Other motors I constantly was messing with the needles to keep temp, or it was constantly dying while blipping in the car. It really started keeping its own temp about 1/2 trough the quart. Only had to keep a heat gun on the bottom off/on due to the fan.

Will run a coupke tanks in the truck before giving it some track time on the 10th. Can't wait, and will try to get some video of it at the track.

The A5 should use about .7mm idle gap. From there if you set your idle with the lsn you will be good. (If the idle is low lean it, high richen) A somewhat rich lsn is fine but it should idle for a few seconds.
