I believe you its just that after 11 years on Off road Nitro ( not racing mostly) Water and engines have always been a big no-no. I never even considered it because everyone always jams into your head to keep your engine and engine internals dry, but I guess as long as you dry them and lube them before the possibility of rust then its all good. I have never tried it though. I also never tried the toothpaste trick but I did last week and that was bomb!! Worked better than any chemical I ever cleaned my piston with
The toothpaste trick is really something...

wd40 is good to clean every thing out just dont flood the whole engine with it I use a bit and use a clean rag to wipe it out some compressed air and relube with after run or dexron automatic transmission fluid its very good it prevents rust and lubes at the same time

People on here are paranoid.

Did you ever wash something metal with water? Did it end up rusting? Why not? Cause you dried it... Obviously the engine internals are a bit more fragile, but really, some compressed air after some denatured alcohol/carb cleaner/WD40 and relubing before installing will not cause rest. Those things prevent it from happening.

Well got everything cleaned up. And now my truck is running like a top. But it wasn't the one way bearing. On the side opposite the carb there are two gears. On has a spring tentioner on it, I tightened the nut and spring now she turns over great.

do yourself a favor ditch the ez start and go PS and Bumpstart..with a good tune the pullstart will fire the engine in a couple pulls.. the ez start motor goes bad quick and is more of a headache..also clean your one way bearing that will cause issues 2
