I have a quick tip for you. When it starts up, quickly pinch the fuel line with your fingers and hold it there and see if the engines run better or just stops right away.
If it runs better you are too rich (you starve it and it runs better)
If it stops right away you are to lean (you starve it and it dies with now fuel)
You could even just pinch the fuel line while TRYING to start it. If it's easier to start then you are running too rich also.

Yea, i have a problem with faliure and when im doing what im suppose to and its not working i get mad as hell. And i guess in this particular case ignorance isn't helping much either. I'm hoping to get this thing running right so that way i can tear it apart do some upgrades and make it a beast. i think the Jato's get laughed at quite a bit but i want mine to be a sleeper until i fire it up. One problem is the closest shop is like 2 hours away, and there are not many people if any around my parts that mess with rc.
As far as the Jato being laughed at, not when they are on road. If you plan on running off road, seriously, sell it and get something different.
There are some who will say it can be used off road, it is all about the driver, etc., but look at those same people who say that and watch some of their videos of the Jato in off road action. It aint pretty lol.

Nothing like nitro, especially when it is running with a good tune and a few other people with you!

Completely disassemble your engine. Then gather some warm/hot soap water in your sink. Scrub each component lightly with your hands. Then leave the parts to soak in the water.
Take it out after 15-30 minutes. You can scrub with an old toothbrush if you want.
Also, some have been able to get their components sparkly by scrubbing it with toothpaste (no joke).
After all this, bathe the internals in some WD40 or nitro fuel or carb cleaner and blow em with an air compressor. If you don't have a compressor use an air can. If you don't have either, just blow and wipe. Then reassemble using a generous amount of after-run oil or some synthetic motor oil (Mobil 1).
You should have a new (looking) engine!

I believe you its just that after 11 years on Off road Nitro ( not racing mostly) Water and engines have always been a big no-no. I never even considered it because everyone always jams into your head to keep your engine and engine internals dry, but I guess as long as you dry them and lube them before the possibility of rust then its all good. I have never tried it though. I also never tried the toothpaste trick but I did last week and that was bomb!! Worked better than any chemical I ever cleaned my piston with
