When I first started racing I destroyed through ignorance while learning RB,Vspec,Ofna and GO tech.:rolleyes: I now run run GO Engines,not to be confused with the original Go Tech,and have great success and life from them:nod: Any of the established brands can be either a disaster or a winner dependant on operator. |
I would choose the O.S any day of the week. :nod:

J/K, between you and Frank L I dont know who is the bigger OS freakazoid. Although Frank has to have OS tools also so I think he has you by a nose Man I can't say enough good about os engines. They never let me down. I know people have issues with them but peoe will have issues with just about anything good or bad ninhave tuned many different brands and I must say the os engines hold their tune better than most. The 25 I have been running is awesome but I think the filter clogs up and then it loads up at the end on a 30 min main. Have to use no oil on the prefilter guess. But James is correct I just love os engines. Ohh ya btw why the speed tools are off the hook. |

o.s. motors rock, they are easy to tune, good power out of the v-specs, the speeds are almost ungodly.
but i would say my all time favorite motor is the nova rossi 421b factory modded, that thing pulled EVERY other motor down the straights and had rediculous bottom end. |
I'll have to disagree. There is a such thing as a best engine. it depends one ones knowledge and driving skills. As far as high end vs low end engines. I strongly beleave you get what you pay for. If I was running with guy's who ran RB's, O.S., Novas and JP's I'm not gonna get a dynamite and think I'm going to shock the world. Thats just me.
As far as the life of an engine. One thing that is over looked is break in. I noticed a lot of people prefer the heat cycle method. Mainly because some racers do it. If you pay for your own engines this method is not wise. Racers do it because that engine will only be used for that one race. These engines now adays need a gallon threw them. If you want to run them for multiple gallons. The pinch is so tight on them now it standard to change the rods after break in. |
Is this the Simple I know? If so, you have one of the best engine guys IMO in the country, defiantly the state, sitting in your pocket. I would talk to Chris before, I buy an engine. We are HIGH UP and IT does make a difference. Get something that the guys here can tune.

This weekend me and the biys went racing.... We ran just about every engine in our stable..... JPX .21, Werk's B5, werk's B6, Ninja JX .21 and a OFNA JL .21......... All the engines ran fantastic..... The Werk's B5 and JPX were the fastest in Truggy...the OFNA JL was the fastest in Buggy, the engine is just retarded fast...The Ninja was all around good in Buggy, no holes in its game at all, but doesn't stand out in any 1 characteristic either.......The Werk's B5 has the best mileage by far......The JPX has the wildest midrange of the bunch, the thing is a animal........... All the engines ran like tops, The most expensive engine had no advantages over the cheapest engine, i can make them all run equally well... personally if i were to pick the easiest to tune it would be the Werk's, tho as I say none are hard to tune....
Most disappointing engine I have run is a Nova Plus 21-7, for all the hype surrounding that engine I was shocked how poor its performance was... Most impressive was a modifed RB C6...the engine was flat out ballistic.... |
Surprised Alpha Plus has only been mentioned once. You should look 'm up. Around here, Alpha starts to make a name. They're incredible and cost the half of other high-end engines.

I have never run across a dissappointed ro disgruntled go engine customer. I have yet to hear of anyone complain about lack of power or short engine life. That in itself says alot about the quality of them. I know not as many people run them and some look at them as a white label mill, but in all honesty i couldn't be more thrilled with the 3 i have. I will continue to run them for the forseeable future. Hell my truggy was able to keep up with a mugen mbx6 buggy with a ninja on the local track, that in itself says alot about the power these things make.

Were the engines you mentioned a coupel posts back your mods or stock? How would you compare the stock versions of the engines you just mentioned to each other? |

I will say the most impressive stock engines I have run are the original Ninja 28 and the OS 25...both those engines absolutely rip ! to date no stock .21 has ever made me lift an eyebrow since my original Picco P7R EVO2
