Neal how do you think a picco p7r evo2 will run on a 9853/41005 pipe combo . Still have one BNIB and would like to get it setup as a spare motor.

Can you get an already broken-in engine clocked? Or is it best to get it clocked brand new?

Well, I got my Mizer Inserts (shoutout to Matt Griffin for superb turnover times - ordered and payed on Monday night, received on Thursday). I've gotta say, the quality looks and feels great; snug fit, nice plastic. I've got high hopes for these babies. I put the 6mm orange insert first to see what kind of power and run time I can make with it and go from there. Unfortunately I won't be racing for another week or so though I'll keep you posted

If a engine is just broken in then its OK..but once its been run on the track and used I prefer not to work on it..

Sounds fair enough. Is this due to liability reasons or just the wear on the engine?

EDIT: So, I'm thinking of getting a clocked engine in the future (once my FX craps out). It's for a buggy, on a medium sized track with medium sized jumps (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater). To the right of the photo, half way down the right edge, is a step-on step-off section that needs good low to mid range punch to clear, and the straight is about 100m long (maybe a little less). I was looking at the famous P5XLT, the Werks B5, the BTT, or the Bonito. Which out of those would be best?

There are a few reasons why I dont take used engines but the main one is liability, there is just to many things that can be wrong with a used engine ...

All of them would do the job well, the Bonito is likely a little too heavy handed for buggy IMO.....The P5 is a workhorse and super fast....BTT has all kinds of punch and is very well rounded, has ceramic bearings and a team piston i have other engines that also would do well for you....

Ive run a few clocked motors on the Canberra track Ronan, the nova btt, p5, bonito, virtus, plus a few others, picco 2012, team edition 5tr and they all do the step on and kick off jump from the apex, no need to go wide, its more a case of pick your posion, well power house engine, they all run like clockwork

Totally agree, The Virtus is probably the strongest and fastest .21 engine out there. It will smoke probably all the fastest .21 ever made. If somebody talking about getting the Bonito or the Keep off 7xl, wait a month and spare some money and go for the Virtus. I have booth and i can't stop wondering how it's possible to make such a sick engine.

How would you guys recommend to clear a pipe of any excess oil buildup that could cause the pressure nipple to clog? Boil in antifreeze? If so, how long?

Nice! Waiting on John for some back ordered parts. Hope to have mine shortly. Running it in truggy hey? Let me know how it is for torque with it being a short stroke.

Cheers,

Antifreeze in a crockpot that you will never use for cooking again, on low for 8-10 hrs. You will be surprised with what comes out!

After 2 qts break in, quick video with OS 2090 pipe, stock TLR clutch, TLR 3.0T

I will say I was kind of hesitant for a truck, but WOW!!! THIS thing is a rocket. The top keeps going and going, bottom a touch smooth but just rips through the whole power band. Neal and John another home run!!!!! I had the spec2 clocked and I'm pretty sure this will take it. It pushed the truck around with ease.
