The Clocked B6 has a retarded amount of power. I ran my first race with it yesterday. Running the Werks 2057 pipe, I am amazed to say that it had as much, if not more bottom end as my stock B5/2013. The scary part was once it hit midrange, it just takes off and keeps on gaining RPM with no end in sight. I made a poor tire choice for the main making it very difficult to put the power down in the corners, but I made up a lot of ground on the straights.

The engine sounds terrifying, too. Very angry sound to it. Globs of power coming out of the corners and it really shines on the straights. I'm excited to lean it out and see what it can do with a perfect tune. This engine has tons of usable power already... I'm amazed.

Raced at Full Throttle Raceway in Foley Mn this past weekend and was running a B5/2013 in truggy and JL/Jp-3 in buggy.....JL took me from the B to the A no problem's but had a low idle at the first pit stop and i didn't have the confidence in my pit man to solve it so that was that....Truggy quali'd 5th in the A and Finished 4th....TQ'd Pro electric and took a 4th on that as well after a rather hectic start to things.

Thx a million for the motor's Neal.

Neal I know I give you a hard time because I am a non mod guy but I was at the Nitro Pit on Saturday and James had the Mod JL in his new Agama and all I can say is DAMN The thing was so fast it was funny. Even the Race Director asked James what he was running because the car was wheeling down the 120 foot straight. He just told him it's a Clocked JL!!! Nice.

My clocked JL is by far the nastiest, meanest, smoothest most favoritest engine I have ever run, but she needs a better carb. gonna try the RB carb on it and see if that cures the tuning changes. If so then I have me a permanent engine.

Default Clarification

Neal I was on yor sight and saw that your service for break in is a " Hand Lapping Piston/Sleeve" process. What exactly does that mean? If I have this done to a new engine will I need to do a full heat cycle breakin still? Will the life of the motor be shortened due to the removal of pinch?

Sorry for all the questions. I have never heard of this before and am considering sending you a couple of my new engines for this.

Thanks!

No, but thank you. it has to be Picco, or the RB Killer 9/10.

I think more then anything you just need some fresh o-rings.....The JL has a good carb for the most part, but from time to time we see some with the o-rings needing replacement....

I do just that....I lap the piston so it has a closer tolerance to where it needs to be in the sleeve.... on some engines it is not needed, but on others it can make a massive difference...

Whatever the issue is I will get it figured out because you cant get this engine away from me for double the price! Its the sickest thing out there. Never have I encountered so much power with such a smooth powerband and I have yet to find a straightaway that will wind out the top end, including the Nitro Pit which is about 150 feet.

Well I just ordered my clocked B5 and 2013 pipe, and am happy to be the latest member of the CRE Racing Team! Can't wait to get them and begin the short break-in process. NorCal is going to love seeing and hearing these engines!! Thanks Neal and John!
