At one time you recommended a JP4 for a clocked C6. The 9901 looks like a midrange 053 type pipe, what's up with that?

Hi,
Im planning to buy a new engine, and since my GO GX-5R has been a bit of a pain in the butt lately, I have been looking at other alternatives. Im planning on buying a stock engine from you guys, but I have limited experience breaking in nitro engines (2 engines). It has been a succes each time though, and i think breaking in a third would give me some valuable experience. I have my eyes set on the Werks B2, as the track I will be running it at, is small and its a lot of stop and go, stop and go. So I think a B2 with the 2058 pipe would be awesome around there. The most importent thing for me is that the engine is easy to work with, and tune. Im looking for something that I know I can trust. Is the B2 such an engine or what would you guys at CRE recommend??? Cheers Chris |
I can't speak for Neal, John or Nick....but the P5 I bought from them has only had the needles touched 4 times all year and it has been a solid performer. (Granted, the weather has been pretty similar every time I've run it)
It's the driver that has been the limiting factor when it comes to perfomance. ;) Though, that engine did help propel me to a 1st place finish at the Novarossi Challenge in the Intermediate Buggy class. :D The time would have been good enough for I think 8th or 9th in the expert class. |

Hey neal, good to see clockwork still going strong. Had to take a couple years off for work, family, and health reasons, but trying to come back now. Dusting off everything and doing rebuilds. The clocked jl fired right up with no issues. Running like the day i put it away.

A little Clocked Plus4BTT action......... this engine really impresses me....very zippy with a great top end....The modifications done dramatically increase the midrange and top end power without losing any bottom...we actually gained a little bottom...The runtimes are quite good as well..

Just wanted to say thank you to John and Neal at CRE. I transfered to a new squadron in May and havent raced since then. I fired up both my CRE Werks motors for the first time this weekend since then, and all I needed to do was adjust the tune an hour or two on each one. The B6 ran 12 minutes in my sons buggy and he finished second while I was running over 10 minutes with my B5 and won the North Carolina Summer Series. Even after sitting for 3 months, I forgot how easy it was to run these things. I miss running Nitro:cry:

If anyone is looking for more mileage try a 2058. I ran it for a full race day and I was pleased. Don't care for tone compaired to a 9886 but it's a good option. Motor was a cre P5

Thanks Neil...... Is there any advantages or disadvantages ????
main issue is many times the used engines are not in nearly as good of shape as people think, and after mods the engine doesn't perform/behave as expected due to underlying issues that were there before the mods........ |
