Got my passport papers processed and expedited today! See you guys at the in August at CRE raceway!!!

I do not own a temp sleeve, warmer, blanket, or whatever they are called. I have a clocked engine and its been run rich for long enough. Bought break in service, and have run a gallon threw it running temps no higher than 250 max. Tonight, I let my clocked engine eat! Max 298 for temp, I turned the high idol screw back out the half turn I took from it, it still run strong! Preheating, to what temp will help me elimanate warm up laps?

I'm amazed I broke my CRE bonito down, I have over two gallons but the piston just goes past the half way mark in the piston and I'm running this mill hard. This mill will last a long time for sure. I disassembled to plugging the breather hole then I will clean all the build up this will free up some motion. My bearings were perfect no dirt everything looked great but i have a lot of build up from running a lot of castor 14% I'm running 12 now. I have no tuning issues no flame outs power is smooth this is my favorite mill for sure.

I usually preheat to about 200 degrees. Don;t let your engine run too hot, 298 is too hot.

tune a engine with 1/48th of a turn adjustments at one time.............. and no amount of preheating will eliminate warmup laps.......... never turn the needles 1/2 turn at once...that is way too much needle movement............. also never tune by temp...tune by sound and performance, not temps...........

like Neal says tuning by temp for baseline is fine but this can be misleading depending on ambient temps outside. By the time youve done 3 -4 warm up laps your engine should sound razor crisp at any throttle position. The bottom end should be very tight and it should come on the pipe with no hesitation. Then stay on the pipe the entire band.

Just now have about 2 gallons on my CRE P5 and I am loving it. I am taking it out of the buggy this week to drop in a ceramic rear bearing and a nova double seal front bearing and just generally go through the motor before the big races coming up.

Couple of questions for you guys. Are you setting the .6mm idle gap with the venturi in the car or out of the carb? I imagine it is out of the carb just like my Werks motors, but I just want to make sure. Also, are the stock needle settings the 3.5 turns out from flush (high) and flush w/ housing (low) like it says on Nova's site?

Got to run Neal's Proto 7 ,First i like 28 and 25 in truggy lots of torque suits me the Proto 7 is the first 21 i found all the torque i like.It ramps up smoothly and progressivley with lots of top end.

Whats the proto 7? A P5 mod?

I have not driven a bonito this year in truggy so hard to compare i will try and snag a drive and let you know but Neal has told you so?
