Just to add to this. This was running in the later part of the afternoon/evening and this was around 200 degrees. You Honestly dont want to know how much fuel i had when i went up to 260. Its was kinda disturbing to say the least.

Good stuff Nick. We have some folks around here that want to try everything but trophy blend. They been losing rod bushings because of those other great fuels, lol. What a killer combo a clocked B5 on TB fuel. I'm glad you got to try it. Outdoor practice this weekend at LCRC. Oh boy!

Thanks for the help today Neal. I'm amazed how much you can help over the phone. Brian and I got her ripping now and I can tell it will only get better. In my opinion best modded engine and best customer service I have ever had.
Keep up the great work.

Rick

I am happy to hear you like the engine...just by the sound over the phone I can tell the Force will be strong in that one ! Isn't it neat how you can hear the engine loosening up as you go along ?

Thumbs up

Well I`m behind the times with the clocked B5s.In Aug I purchased a clocked JL .21 I`m just pulling it out of the box to put on my RC8TCE,I noticed there are no carb inserts is that the way I run it or do I need to locate some inserts?I am new to nitro, this will be my first real race that`s why i`ve had the mill for awhile still in the box, cool a$$ stickers they sent name on them that`s awesome.I`m going to bust my cherry at the PNB this weekend.Any sugestions would be great. There is no dought there will be a Clocked B5 on order for the Alabama Manufactors Race. Thanks Johnny

I could be wrong, but i believe JL has fixed venturi. No removable inserts.

The JL don't use inserts... just run it as is....

Please call me when you can, or drop me your number....... Going to a big race, with a untested, untuned engine can be a recipe for disaster.... A big race is not the place to be popping the cherry of a brand new engine like that...All of these engines require some feeling out time for you to get the engine fully broken in and and settled, as well for you to become accustomed to the tuning characteristics of the engine...At the big races there is seldom much time to test where you can actually hear the engine on its own....And unless you can hear the engine you can never get a proper tune...Even tho the JL has a hand lapped piston its still going to take about 1/2 -1 gallon to fully settle in and stabilize...It will still run good as it is now, but you will find the tune will want to wander a little........So if possible and you have the time please give me a call... I will do my best to help you get the engine setup and dialed in...But be aware going to a big race with a such a fresh new to you engine would be a big challenge to even the most experienced tuners.....Usually it takes people a little bit of stick time to become accustomed to how an engine tunes and behaves....The big races can be a very challenging environment to dial in a fresh new engine for even the best of us..... Good luck, and feel free to contact me if you get the chance !
