I just broke my B6 in and i was curious if we are suppose to remove any shims to increase performance or we just stick with the stock shimming?

Interesting ..... I just myself went from a B6 to a B5 in a DM-1S IGT car last weekend.. the B5 is much better in the car than the B6 was for me. Not to say the B6 was a slouch cause it wasnt by any means but with the B5 I dont have to worry about the guy behind me with a .28 getting the jump on me and having to run him down at the other end or having to drive defensively sometimes..........Its plenty fast on top tooo...:nod:

The JP-4 is about the only jp pipe i have used that I have ever had any luck with I would use it.....

In all weather conditions you should be able to run with just 2 plugs, the #5 and #6. In colder weather the air is denser so your engines will actually make more power. Rule of thumb though for me is that I always try to run the coldest plug that I can as this retards the ignition allowing me to lean the engine down more, hence more power and run time. A hotter plug will provide you with a more stable idle though and be less sensitive to the state of tune (meaning you can get away with running the needles slightly rich and it will still clear out). I should mention though that the above applies for most normal weather conditions that we experience here on the west coast i.e. 50F to say 110F. I do not have any experience running in 20-30F weather like you guys experience on the east coast in the winter time so if that is what you are asking about I'm going to have to let some of the other guys chip in on that.
Ron Once the motor was up to temp, it was business as usual, outside of the fact that they were all nutty fast and needed to be richened up for the denser air! |
B6 vs B7
Hi there. Has anyone done any testing between the Werks B6 and the B7??
Is the B7 as fast and as strong? |

Is the B7 as fast and as strong? Also on another thread you made some negative comments about you would not recommend the person to buy one of our engines because you can never get a hold of anyone here etc. etc. There is always some one here from 9am-5pm and if we are on the phone helping some one or not in there is VM and you can just leave a message and we will call you back. Did you by chance try that? |
