The motor is not a Mamba. It is the first version of the Cobra with the Hot Mod performed on it. I believe it is Identical to the X1 Evo minus the crank with the Plastic insert in it. I want to convert it to an Evo so I would be interested in the Crank with a Rod, Piston and Sleeve. If you could get a price on that I would appreciate it.
Thanks Nick Nick Just sent you a PM on the price of the parts let me know if i can help you. THANKS |
Hey Guys just gone to let you know AXE ROSSI has a NEW motor Coming out. I have one being shipped to me to TEST and run for a little bit. I will give you guys more info on the motor as it gets closer to the release date. All i can tell you guys is Axe Rossi has a Snake coming for you :sneaky::sneaky:
|
The SNAKE is on its way :sneaky::sneaky::sneaky::sneaky: This motor would be a GREAT motor to run with one of the New Buggy's coming out soon by another company the Name is the same for the buggy and the motor.

Hello, I currently own a AXE ROSSI .21 Cobra 198R21 and have about 3 1/2 Gallons through the engine. I noticed some fatigue in the connecting rod when the piston is at TDC. I can feel a slight movement back and forth with the flywheel while the piston is stuck at TDC. Anyhow I took the entire engine apart and didn't notice any damage. I would like to hope I caught it in time. Anyhow, I have read that these engines require a rod rebuild after 10-15hr. mark. Now, this would not be my first race engine as I have replaced them before. Anyhow, I am wondering if this is the correct part number for the rod. PN. 16008 $45.00The engine still has a lot of compression and pinch left. Will this new connecting rod last longer than the one I had before? Also, I purchased a Turbo Head for this engine and was not aware that the Novarossi 6 Turbo Plug doesn't seal. I ran the engine and it ran actually fine, but when I came home to check it I noticed it was a air leak. Now I tried a O.S P3 plug and it worked no air leaks. The question is now, I didn't strip any threads nor did I force the plug in the head will I have problems trying to use a AXE Turbo Plug later on? Btw I've been running rossi engines for the past 9 years. My First Engine from Rossi was the Rossi .21 Eco good engines ... Hey one question this is probably dumb, but would the connecting rod from my old Rossi 100R21 work? I would probably just rather get a new rod, but just wondering ... |

Yes that is the Right Part Number for the rod for your motor. And yes that is the New rod from Axe Rossi and it Should last longer then your old rod it is a Much better rod then the Older Rods that came in the Cobra's and Mamba's . After you have run the O.S. plug you will have an Air Leak around the Plug when you try and run the Axe Rossi Plug. the O.S. plug and the Axe Rossi Plug is not the same Thread you might try an Axe Rossi Plug and see if it Leaks it might not but i think it will. If you need any Parts just send me a PM as i am a Axe Rossi Dealer and can fix you up with what ever parts you might need. THANKS CHRIS CREWS. |

I haven't driven the car with the P3 yet, but I just threaded it in to see if it would work anyhow, I did run it with a Novarossi 6 plug and it did leak so you mean that I need to buy another turbo head? Why did they change the turbo plug on the AXE and make it different from Novarossi. I mean aren't Novarossi, RB, AXE, O.S and most other turbo plugs supposed to be interchangeable? I can kinda understand maybe O.S but that's  ...

No Axe Rossi is Not Novarossi they are not same at all. Like i said try it with a Axe Rossi Plug it might not Leak i have seen guys run O.S. Plugs and the head not leak and then i have see guys use them and it leak so it might and it might not i cant tell you for sure you will just need to try it and go from there. If the Motor dose not Leak with the O.S. Plug and it is what your LHS has then run the O.S. Plug it will make it EZer on you if you run out of plugs you can just drive to your LHS and get some more and not haft to Waite for some to come in after you Order them. And if you would like to run Axe Rossi Plugs try an Axe Plug after you run the O.S. and see how it works and if it dont Leak Order you some Axe Rossi Plugs and keep the in you Pit box and keep some O.S. Plugs as Back up plugs so if you run out of Axe Plugs you will have some to run when you a waiting for you Axe plugs to come in. THANKS CHRIS CREWS. |
Guys gone to show you what an Axe Rossi motor can do for you i ran my old Axe Rossi Cobra .21 this motor has 10 gallons of fuel on it has been pinched 1 time and has had 2 rods in it in 10 gallons.
This is the 2nd time this motor has put me in the money first time was in my Losi 8ight 2.0 Buggy and this time with my Losi L8ight Model. Me and Axe Rossi other Sponsored Drive Casey Sipes took #1 and #2 in the Southern Dirt Oval Series Axe Rossi took home the MONEY. Hello again ...
Well I wasn't able to save my turbo head button it's damaged. I just wish I would of knew ahead of time that they weren't compatible (Rossi, Novarossi T-Plugs)... :( Anyhow I decided to go back to standard plug. I didn't notice to much difference in performance switching from standard to turbo so no loss there the motor screams regardless... I took a visit to SG Model Engines Sahak Ghoukasian house. He was a great guy had lots of information and very kind. I even told him I was on here asking questions and all is great I plan to do business with him more. I'm thinking of purchasing the AXE .25 engine for my GTP 2. http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/2987/img3092l.jpg I think the changing of the connecting rod did the most improvement. The compression is still good ... Do you have any information about the .25 AXE X1? |

If you need any more help are in more Info just let me know i am Happy to help. THANKS CHRIS CREWS. |
Guys just gone to give you some Info i found out this weekend if you have ever Bottomed out you LSN and HSN and after that you motor would not hold a Tune and Temps would go way up no mater how much you Fattened up the LSN and HSN you have messed up your carb you should NEVER Bottom out your LSN are you HSN if you need to reset you carb set you LSN to FLUSH and you HSN to FLUSH and go form there NEVER BOTTOM you LSN are HSN it will MESS up your Carb.
I seen this on a NEW Axe Rossi Mamba X1 this week a friend got from Me and Casey NEW he Green Slimed the LSN and the HSN and Bottomed them out and reset them to Flush but it had MESSED up the LSN and HSN it ruined his Carb and now he needs a NEW Carb. We took a Carb from Casey's Axe Rossi Mamba X1 the LSN and HSN have never been Bottomed out he just started tuning from Flush and put it on Russes motor and it Ran GREAT so we found out you NEVER NEED TO BOTTOM OUT YOUR NEEDLES ARE YOU MIGHT RUIN YOUR CARB. |

You can also fit a Novarossi R7 rod in most of the Axe engines. Pretty much makes them bullet proof  rgds Brad. |

We took a Carb from Casey's Axe Rossi Mamba X1 the LSN and HSN have never been Bottomed out he just started tuning from Flush and put it on Russes motor and it Ran GREAT so we found out you NEVER NEED TO BOTTOM OUT YOUR NEEDLES ARE YOU MIGHT RUIN YOUR CARB. yeah, even if the manual says 3 turns out from closed, trust me the least little bit will mess up the spray bar, you can still pull the needles out and green slim them but make sure when u reinstall them into a axe rossi carb to put them to flush and start tuning from their. if u have ever even lightly closed the lsn on a axe carb then u might as well order a whole new carb, i no this sounds crazy that even alittle bit will mess it up but trust me it will, it wasted 2 practice days for me. when ever u get a new motor figure out a way to count turns out from where the factory set the needles so u no a good starting point on both the hsn and the lsn so u will never have to worry about flaring the spray bar or bending a needle, i barely turned mine until it stoped on the lsn and that is all it took, these motors are made to such exact tolerances that it takes just alittle bit to screw them up and then u think u got a bad motor. most of us have had a tmaxx with a 2.5r and on those carbs they have a built in stopper to keep it from bottoming out the lsn(u can read it on the website) and that is where i think alot of people are messing up, cause alot of us racers learn something and it is imprinted in our mind. guys i hope this helps thanks to chris and casey for the help and to axe rossi for being willing to make it right with me. |
