I would just like to thank both you guys for helping the rest of us out havent had the chance to ask speedzone99 or russ rather any questions but I keep this thread is one my fav. for the fact that I am running the Axe Rossi Mamba I went with this engine for serveral reasons one price specs on it far as bore, stroke, power etc dont have them setting in front of me right now so I can not give numbers but I did the same as russ there Ive read that paper so many times I have just about wore it out. I sealed mine from the get go from what I read before finding this thread I knew it was going to be a headache. So I took my time and made probley way to many mistakes with the motor Ive had it too lean Ive had it just about looking like a sprinkler out the exausht even the glow plug itself Ive had fuel coming out of yes I know many of these mistakes is costly but I took my time and when I felt it was wrong I packed it up for the day and done more and more reasearch on the
motor. All and all I hope to have this motor on my local track this yr how well I finish I say not to good just a green horn hear but just my two cents I will suport axe rossi all the way Ive even heard my motor as wacked out of shape as it was against a .28 motor idling and it still sounds more powerful so to say like I said just my two cents but thanks guys for helping out with these motors. kodiakbear7070 THANK you. Guys like you are Way i LOVE rc it make it so much fun to help people. And yes these motors are GREAT motors wish more people would see this and Give Axe Rossi a chance and try them . |
hi guys sorry but another noob question, the rubber o ring on the bottom of where the carbo goes into the motor, mine was broken when i received my motor and i'm just wondering should that rubber o ring be on the carb when i put it into the motor or place it inside the motor where the carb goes in?
thanks again. |

It should go around the carb when you put it into the motor that way it would make a tight complete seal and to insure that it would make a good seal I would also use the carb silicone and go ahead and seal it up completley so there would be no second guessing if there is an air leak in that area.
yeah the seal is a good idea because the o ring will sit above the locking screw which looks to me like it might leak abit of air |
On mine it might be over cautious but I went ahead and done the whole carb with sealent on mine i had to turn the carb around so my throttle linkage was correct my thought was might as well seal it all while I have it down to me its just preventive maintence and rules out another possible problem.

Looks ok but i think you temps are a little Cold most of these motor get the best run time and the Most power around 230 so you may need to go in some on the needles to get the temps up some if the motor is broke in good.

Hi mate, another noob question , sorry making a habit of this.
but i'm having trouble getting the idle right on my sport motor. i read some where that when the motor idles and if it slows down like da..da..da..da then da.......da........da.......da...... i have not set the idle correctly and what i need to do is lean out the low speed needle until the idle is constant no matter how long the motor is idling for, however i can never get this constant idling going no matter what i do, after 15 seconds or so the idle will always slow down. am i doing this correctly. thanks again. |

Yes what you are doing is right your motor should hold a good idle for 10 to 15 sec and then drop off to the da......da.........da.......da like you said if it stays up to a da..da..da..da..da for more then 10-15 sec you have the LSN to Lean it should drop off like yours is doing and Load up and Die after a little bit. |

you've been a great help. you've helped more with advice on the motor than my local hobby shop which i've wasted so much money at. i just want to clarify something as i'm confused, the motor should idle fast for 10 to 15 seconds and then it should drop off to a lower idle speed right? or is the motor meant to constantly idle at a constant speed? can you pm me some prices for the sport motor along with postage to sydney australia? a friend of mine just bought a new buggy kit and is looking around for a motor. thanks again. |

I am sending you a PM on Price of motors and some Parts for your motor so you will know. Shipping will cost what ever it take no more i don't try and make money off of shipping. |

Hey Guys, here are a few shots of an Axe Rossi .21 Cobra I did for a gentleman. In fact it is the same gentleman I did the .25 that I posted pics for earlier in this thread. What I did this time is because the check was a completed circle, I bladed it as far as I could to give it even more bladed surface area and now it will act even more like a single stage compressor wheel. A few shots of the sleeve to round it out. Let me know if anyone has any Axe engines that need some help:sneaky:

Hey Mark GREAT work keep it up. Are you gone to make it to the AMS?

Nick64merc Yes i know the motor you are talking about i have one and have run it and love it with the Turbo head on it. You will need a new head Button the threads are not the same for Axe Rossi and O.S. P3 plug if you get a new Button you can run the Axe Rossi plug and it will not Leak. I can sale you the Head Button and the Plugs if you like and will make you a GREAT deal on them i all so think Axe Rossi make a Kit to make your Motor the newer Mamba X1 EVO i can look this up for you and let you know what it would cost if you would like me to.
And Yes on the JP3 pipe i have run that pipe with that motor and it works GREAT the best pipe to run with the motor is the JP2 but the JP3 is all so good. With the JP2 on the Axe Rossi Mamba X1 on a STRR truggy my friend and Axe Rossi Sponsored Driver Casey Sipes was getting 12 min run times on a BIG out door track and was running the truck Hard with TONS of power. The motor is not a Mamba. It is the first version of the Cobra with the Hot Mod performed on it. I believe it is Identical to the X1 Evo minus the crank with the Plastic insert in it. I want to convert it to an Evo so I would be interested in the Crank with a Rod, Piston and Sleeve. If you could get a price on that I would appreciate it. Thanks Nick |
