AXE ROSSI Engine thread.....
#392
My pit guy is Kyosho17 he is the Sponsored driver for Axe Rossi now and he even likes how my Alpha motors Tune and run i had a GREAT run with Axe Rossi for 3 years just stated looking at some of the Lower Priced motors out to day and sent Alpha my paper work and got picked up with a Better deal on motors then Axe Rossi was gone to give me.
Axe Rossi is a GREAT company i just think now days money is hard to come buy and to spend $350.00 on 1 motors is just Crazy and all of Axe Rossi top motors are way over priced for what you get. My Alpha motors cost 1/2 the price and i am getting 5 and 6 gallons out of them and you cant ask for more from a $240.00 motor & pipe combo.
Hope to be running for Alpha and Rc Pro for years to come i am all so a dealer for Rc Pro and Alpha now.

I have an AXE Mamba for sale. It's in excellent condition with 2.5 gallons through it. It was just rebuilt and pinched about a quart ago! http://www.rctech.net/forum/r-c-item...axe-mamba.html
Sorry for hijacking but I need to move it as I already have too many engines.

Hi, does anybody know the right shimming for Mamba X1 running 25% fuel?
The button has a 3 stamped on it, and with one 0.2mm shim the squish is 0.55mm.
I think I read that there is a button with 2 stamped on it as well, which one is larger in volume?
Appreciate any help!

You want.18-.25 on your squish point are at least that's what I've read and been told! The mabma comes ready for 30% which is .20ths one shim so if u run 25% you could drop that some without hurting engine. Always remember to check the pistion doesn't hit bottom of head button hope this helps some.

Problem is that there is only 0.1 and 0.2mm shims to buy from Axe Rossi, could try a 0.1mm shims, that would give a total squish clearance of 0.45mm. A colder plug could help to.
Not my engine, helping a friend so I want to get it as right as possible from the start.

I replaced an OS .28 in my RC8T with a cobra X1. Loved the engine, awsome power across the board. Ran about 3-4 litres though it than gave it a race tune. Had a few tunning issues that were to do with the pipe I was using.Refitted the axe 2050 and the engine was running sweet. Went to a 2 day race,we were able to get a couple of hours practice in at the track the day before the race, engine was running strong with more than enough power and great run times temps were around 215/220F. Started the engine and run it for a couple of minutes on the strater box before driving around the parking area to get some temp into the motor. Engine stopped dead and had locked up. Pulled the exhaust and back plate off and found that the rod had broken at the crank. Pulled the motor down and found the crank was broken and the case cracked. As i was really happy with the engine prior to failure I am looking at buying another one but have some reservations due to the rod failures. I have read the threads here and it seams that the new axe rods have fixed the issue. Info also refers to a Go tech rod as a suitable fix. What is the part number for the Go rod. Has anyone had any failures due to the new rod breaking. I am not concerned with the bushes wearing out after 3 or so gallons as the rod is something that I replace after that much fuel.

Hey Guys,
I am sort of a newbie on here and I am not able to get into the RC trade/sale area of the site. Anyone have any ideas for me. It says I don't have access to this area.
I am wanting to list my 2 Axe Rossi engines for sale. I have a Cobra X2 with one gallon Byrons 30 through it. On the start box it coughed and sounded bad. I pulled the back plate and it spun the lower conrod bushing. I replaced it with new Axe Rossi rod. Scratched the backplate some but runs good and seems race ready.
The Mamba has about 1/2 gallon of Byrons 30 and is running really great. I broke both of them in with the heat cycle method. I am asking $225 for the pair. Really a slow race season here and I am thinning down. We can use Paypal and I can ship for standard ship price, around 10 bucks shipping. Drop me an email at [email protected] if interested. Thanks Dj

Hey everyone,
I have an Axe Sport .21 engine from a few years ago, it's brand new still in the box. I had it as a back up engine when I was racing 1/8th a few years ago. The current OS header for the OS RG I was running isn't the correct fit for the Axe, just wondering what header/pipe combo works for this engine?

Yea tha axe rod bushing is what ive trouble with both that went out only had about 2gallons on it but the engines are very precise. When i break in a axe engine i take a used but good rod to breakin then put new one back in after that. That seemed to help on the last one i done

I have come back to the axe family after a short but unhappy time with another engine. Running another Cobra X1 Evo in my RC8T. Engine had the new rod so I ran it in with the axe rod then fitted an R7 rod that I had as a spare for the other engine. Even though the new rods have been an improvement I dont want to smoke another engine.Took it out for its first race over the week end and finished second overall for a 2 day event. Very happy with the engine/2050 combo. I have a 2096 Nova pipe that I am going to try next week end to see how it compairs, nothing ventured nothing gained, if it is no good I will run the 2050 again
