Hey fellas

Is Axe Rossi dead?
What's the deal?

I read this whole thread, took me 2 nights lol, as I am considering a Cobra X2 as they are listed really cheap in Australia right now.
BUT it appears the reason for the cheap price is that the distributor is getting rid of all his stock.

This whole thread had me excited, but in the last two pages I see the US distributor has moved to Alpha, another guy reckons the Axe motors are cheap on ebay there, kyosho is selling his motors etc etc.
There is a lot less activity in this thread now....
Also seems weird that Axe Rossi did not release any new models this year?

If I can buy one 50% cheaper, break it in and put a Go Tech rod in it for $30 and it lasts 4gal I'll be happy. But if I can't get parts or anything I won't be. Is Axe Rossi disappearing ( even just from from offroad), or am I reading between the lines too much?

Also this awesome 3yr warranty that was talked about so much by TheNova - does that work everywhere? If I buy one, and there is no distributor in Australia, will Axe Rossi Italy or USA talk to me if the motor dies? I wonder if that was just a thing TheNova had going?

Default Axe rossi

No they have a 3 yr warranty but it may take awhile to get it taken care of the problem is the rod bushing coming apart after bout 1 gallon mark although i had the x2 and the first run of them wer good got 7 gallons b4 rod went out but thats good i normally change rod every 3 gallons anyway. Now the carb i think needs rework i had trouble keepin my tuned needles backing out mainly but i think they need to be made of composite material aswell all engines have something wrong them the axe engines are precisely made but axe rossi has not fixed the issues to my knowledge but they do get good run time and r good on power i still have the mamba engine which i like better than x2 for the tracks we run on hope this helps

but still nervous. I bet nobody in USA would want to know me if I bought a motor here and then it had a problem...

For what Brad is asking for the x2 it would be worth the risk. They have the new rod but for around $20 for a Go rod it is cheap insurance. I had an x1 that dropped a rod, should have read the thread before leaning on the engine, I bought another X1 from Brad for a price that was to good to go past and fitted a R7 rod after I run 4 litres through it but the glow plug dropped its filiment but that was no fault of the engine. Loved the engines, heaps of power and good run times.

Oh agreed - the price is awesome. What I'm saying though is that with no Australian distributor it would worry me that if something went wrong with the motor I'd have no warranty. I've had bad experiences with companies not wanting to know me when there is no distributor to go thru, they use it as an excuse to run away and not cover the warranty.
Also been burned by listening to people in the USA talking about how they sent it back to ABC Pty Ltd and got a new one the next day..... bit different if anyone overseas tries
Thus I wonder if Axe Rossi's aweome warranty was more the distributor doing the right thing, not the manufacturer

Hi.

Just got an offer on a Axe Rossi Serpe 7-Port Competition .21 Engine. Shall the rod be replaced after break-in like other Axe engines? Where can I find a manual for that engine before I maybe buys it?

Thanks gentlemen

Default X2

I have an X2 and the rod went and took the piston and sleeve with it.

what rod do I buy or should I just get the piston sleeve and rod from axe rossi and replace the rod with something different after break-in.

Thanks

I would get a new Piston Sleeve and Rod and after Break-in replace the Axe Rossi Rod with a Novarossi rod from a P5.

Talking Axe Rossi Engine

Hi folks. I haven't posted in a while.

I like Axe Rossi engines very much. I actually don't own a newer mill.
I still run a Black Magic and a LSK engine. I run the LSK engine more than
the BM. Anyway. I can not begin to tell you how many gallons I have on tthe LSK engine. This thing just keeps going and going. I have several spare piston/sleeve/rod sets so, I really don't worry about the engine going to pot. (Bearing are hard to find last time I looked though)

I actually would like to run a new mill engine. I don't remember the engine name but it's not the Cobra. It's the X1 engine with the orange head.

I hope AXE doesn't go away. At the same time, I do think Axe needs to come up with a new mill to keep up with the current engines that are being created. I can still get great fuel milleage out of my engines but, I do think I more can be gotten from them.

AXE Rossi, Please go back to your roots. Create a new version of the Black Magic. That really cool alien head was something only Axe made. Time to come out with a new fierce engine..

Thanks
