Current pipe and engine options

While I've done some seaching and reading. I have seen lots of opions on differnt pipe and header combos. I'd like to find out more about why you suggest a certain combo.

My current set ups and options:
Nova p 9853 h 41001 truggy
Nova p 2096 h 41021 buggy

Rex revenge buggy
Bonito 7xlb truggy

Options:
Mito 4offa extra
Jammin jp3 stock header
Dynamite 086hs stock header
Sh p 2060 stock header

I just got the 2096 in a engine deal and replaced the dynamite on the buggy. I really think the dynamite pulled more power out of the engine. I don't know why though.

Thoughts and suggestions...

The 2096 has always leaned an engine another 6 to 9 hours on the HSN. Start tweaking the HSN little by little and see if that helps.

The dynamite pipe is a 2 chamber pipe and the 2096 is a 3 chamber pipe. 086 is waayyy more powerful compared to the more restrictive 2096.

Better no? Good pipe yes. I have run them on Nova's. They work. I have since though went back to Nova Pipes on my Nova engines.

Thank you, what nova pipe do you run mostly, honestly i never like 9901

Any opinion on a P5XLT-16 w/ a 41021 manifold and a 9901 pipe?

beidle99 06-05-2017 04:53 PM

That's pretty punchy on the bottom end, (fine for smaller tracks or medium tracks with jumps out of corners) I like the 2096/41021 combo for 5 ports for medium to larger tracks

All the tracks around me are really tight and rough. I have tried it out and it is pretty punchy on the bottom end. I did have issues w/ traction due to a lot of bottom end, but like I said the track was really super dry and rough. I am using the Nova clutch as it comes factory. I will have to say though that it was awesome in the midrange. Here's a shot of my B3 on the track. It's pretty tight and rough. I use the 2096/51020 on my Legend 25 w/ great success.

Switched back to the dynamite pipe. Love the way it pulls so much our of the engine. Still was seeing 10 minute run times last summer. When the nova pipe came with my mito4. I thought id give it a shot.

I have their .28 7 Port in my monster truck. You can order it with either bump start, pull start, or rotor start. And it's a turbo head buttoN.

Engine, pipe, and header combos

I am getting more into why we run what we run rather than just running what I had or could afford.

My question is how are you choosing your combinations that you run?

Example:
I currently have a
Bonito 7xlb 7port.
Supposed to be smooth on the bottom with a strong top end.
It is recommended to run a
9901 pipe. Supposedly strong bottom end.
It is also recommendes to run the 4121 short manifold. Which provides more top end.

Viewing this they suggest a pipe to increase low end power the engine does not produce, and a short header to add to the top end the pipe does not focus on.

Correct, incorrect?

The 9901 is the best of the three chambered nova pipe especially on the extra long stroke novas. The 41021 manifold is actually really long and chops the top off significantly.

Go with 2096, 9901 will kill the top end, i have keep off 7 which share thr same parts but different bearing, unless it is a small medium technical track doesnt need top end

9901 has crazy top end when its used with the right manifold ! your issue is you simply used the 41021 and called it a day...swap to a 41001 and that 9901 will put a big hurting on a 2096 ....the 9901 has a crazy good top end when it has the right manifold ! it just doesn't like the 41021, that manifold murders its top end
