Monty,

This is not BS. I race with him. When he was witnessed doing this was in Tallahassee, FL. It was a very big deal to see it. 100 witnesses... I am just scratching my head. I have seen him pit at other events more conservatively (10 mins). I have even suspected fuel injection... lol..

How's the H-plex going Perroto? I miss great tire wear. Since signing on with AKA it has been a lot better though. I have ran many 30 minute mains with zero tread less than 10 minutes in. Now I can make the 30 with tread left. Quality is quality.... I'm very happy with the move. My Maxy engines are frickin' awesome. I run the Maxy's 25% fuel. I just start it an run it and really don't have to think about them. Since moving from Odonnel and O.S. I have had zero flameouts minus one fuel gun overfill in 2 years.

I miss racing with you guys. Especially Alex. (don't tell him I said that..lol) You guys are welcome down here anytime.

That's real good to hear man. The Plex is growing in popularity rapidly every year. Next weekend is 1/10 scale Jcon finals and it's been sold out for months, well over 300 entries. Believe it or not, 1/8 is growing again too. We are getting about 100 entries for the 1/8 winter series races.
Gimme a call sometime, you got my digits.

At the last race with him I was really interested in what he was doing with his cars (everyone was) but he kept them covered at all times. So, I do not know what he was running.

I do know that Adam is very helpful. So, if we were to ask him about those carbs I am certain he would know a thing or two about them.

Yeah, I plan on going to Omaha to race at some point. I almost went last year.

If I had my 2wd buggy I would have went there for the JC race. I see J.R. made the race. I like racing with him.

I plan to use either a re12(9901 clone) or werks 2058 pipe. Buggy is a TKI3.

If you want 9901 performance you ARE NOT going to get it with the re12...Dont let anyone kid you. Some may call it a "clone" but they do not perform the same. I know a few guys who went cheap with the re12 and bitched for weeks they were not happy with there nova based engines. A switch to the 9901 and it wasn't the engines they were bitching about any more ;)I love the 2058 on the p5,plus4, and fusion x3..

Good feedback on the 9901, but what about the clutch setup? Any suggestions?

I'm going to see if I can find 2096 novarossi pipe for my X5 and X3
See if someone near you have a 2096 that you can try out.

Good luck this week at INDY if you go.

Tell Dad I said hello..

Sorry Ron can't comment on the kyosho clutch. I have never used one. I will say i'm not a fan of a high clutch stall.I like an early engagement and a engine that has the low end grunt to pull it!

From my findings, Odonnell Speed Blend has torched a good bit of engines. I believe the window is a little more narrow with it.

A combo I enjoy is Nova with Byrons. I don't know the last time I changed the glow plug. The Nova's just love Byrons fuel. Simply the best tuned engine you will get.

What % Byrons works best for you? As a new guy just getting into nitro I'm not sure what to run. I wish more of the experienced folks would give their negative opinions regardless of being flamed. Lol

I just picked up a P5XLT and really would like it to last. Any recommendations on exhaust? I was thinking mb a werks 2058 set-up?

beidle99 12-11-2013 06:22 PM

As for fuel, the Byrons 30/11 blend is great. The label will say Race Blend 3000 on it. I personally run prodriver 3000 but that is my preference. My Plus 4 Btt went almost 8 gallons before I even considered a pinch. I had it pinched and its my back up. Always preheat (great investment is the Comp Products heater) and tune the engine for performance not to temp (try to keep the temps between 210* and 250*) and it will last a long time.

The 2058 should run good on the P5, I like the 41021/2096 combo on my Nova Engines.

RiPPeN302 12-11-2013 06:58 PM

Does no one run the Plus 4BTT anymore? Is price really why most choose to run the P5?
