Guys,

im new to Novarossi, will the Novarossi PLUS21 4C Team Off-Road Engine or Novarossi S21P5XLT .21 5 Port be suitable for a greenhorn?

Tran901 09-13-2012 06:22 AM

has anyone ever ran a Plus 4 or modified plus 4 in a Truggy? is it lacking power?

Not yet for me, give me about 2 weeks, mine should be ready to go.

ive been flaming at the pits after a fuel stop in my last 2 outings.

1. pit stop flame outs are usually the result of loading up too much fuel
2. your idea of replacing the fuel tank is a good one
3. make sure your pit man does not overfill the tank, and have him push the fuel tank lid down so it seals, after he refuels you
4. you said you already tried leaning out the bottom, now, does it run well on idle? By that I mean, can you sit and idle for 20 seconds, or does it flame out once you hit the throttle after some idling? if so you are probalby still too rich on bottom (and maybe idle gap too large), keep in mind that small adjustments can help a whole lot.

thanks, yes the LSN is set lean enough so it doesnt get bogged down with fuel for at least 15 -20 seconds. the idle is very good and it idles forever and doesnt flame out if i hit the throttle after some idling. the only times i've flamed out are immediately after a pit stop, right after my pitman sets it down.

edit: i forgot to mention, the C6 plug i have on it probably has almost a gallon on it.... i was going to put a plug in on my next outing just to make sure that's not the issue. i know sometimes the bottom coil of the plug will no longer be hot enough after a while.

Ok, Just figured out "cosmetic" differences between Novarossi Off-Road carburetors.

24063 : Pretty standard on OR engines by now...
http://www.novarossi.it/images/publi...root/24063.jpg

24069 : Note the metallish bottom end. Seem to be a metal body with surround plastic. I got this one on my new P5 2012.

24065 : Latest carburetor. According to Novarossi, it's like the 24063 but with 7mm inner diameter instead of 9mm on the 24063.

All my Novas came with 24063 except the new P5 I just bought couple days ago. Tomorrow I'm going to breakin, will see if this carb help or not tuning.

Any feedback appreciated !!!

Regards......

Flames can also be caused by a little too rich HSN. Our pro engine really needs a perfect tuning to run smoothly. 95% of all flames is a fault-40 and/or wrong/faulty glowplug.

i have seen +4 in truggy and they do just fine, they dont need to be time pieced or whatever to power a truggy.

I've seen tons of stock +4's in truggies and Im not that impressed, I think the P5 in truggy would be a lot better.

Clocked +4 would be awesome in a truggy I would imagine.
