toro nero flameout

hi all, i have just broken in a toro nero team edition and ran it in our local race track. engine running ok during the heats but flameout 2x during a 25min finals. it happens at the same spot. wen im going wot on the straight, release throttle, brake and make a sharp right hairpin turn the engine has a tendency to flameout. the fuel tank was not full when this happens.when i blip the throttle a few times along the long stretch it tends not to flameout. the straight stretch is bout 40m. im running on byron 25pct odonnel 097t and thunder tiger 2035.

Do you have a mbx6 or D8 buggy? Check the fuel line and tank.

I have a nova +4 with 41021man and 9901 pipe
I have trouble starting when hot it is fine starting when its cold.
Real hard to start if i give throttle when trying to start or if pit guy put finger over pipe to try give more fuel.
I find the only way to get started when warm or hot is to trim throttle 3 or 4 clicks and bump start on box 2 or 3 sec at a time for 10 or more times. But this still takes lots of tries to get it going (if flames out in race it pretty much allover as it take forever too get it going again)

If you know what i mean. (i am fairly new to this rc game)

and i am using rb5 plug as cant get nova plugs from LHS.

So can anyone out there able to help me with this problem
P.S would odonnell 97t be better?

cheers thanks in advance.

Dave

hey Dave get your self some odonnell plugs I am running the 77t in both my
+4 engine and ran the 97t in my previous +4, sounds like you have an air leak is your engine still running very rich even at race temp? give this a try take off your carb put some sealant around the outside of the throat if you have lucky 7 use that if no get locktite gasket sealant its red and not cheap but will seal it up good. you can put some on your backplate if you like. go back to factory settings on your needles and retune from there oh and change your plug to one of the above and you should see some results.
cheers :)

those two pipes will work good but they will take run time away the best combo for the Toro Nero is the Novarossi 41021 header and the 51018 efra 2084 pipe. it will give the most power with a really good run time

That or the 9853ss , 53 gives as little more power with good runtimes still

plus 4c loosing compression

guys, my plus 4c is somehow loosing its compression, the top end is gaining power but i am loosing too much in the low end. i though of removing 1 shim in the combustion chamber,(silver) just to regain compression(hopefully) and just re-tune it.

will it work?

pros and cons?

help guys!!! :)

Check your clutch set-up before you do anything else to it.
Weak or broken clutch springs, clutch shoes hanging up on
the flywheel pins, will kill the low end performance of any
engine.

clutch setup looks fine. assembly looks perfect. 3 aluminum clutch shoe, 3 1.0 clutch springs stock gearing for the mbx6. i am bothered about the fading of the compression of the engine.

options are, removing 1 shim from the combustion head(silver)

or replacing my clutch spring with a harder set(1.1 springs)

Try getting it pinched.

Give RayA a call. IMO he has the best P/S re-sizing service
there is. Rely on the best, forget the rest.

ok guys Im all new to nova engines. I ordered the plus 4 2010 team version. I will be getting it tommorrow. What is the best way to break it in? I want it to last as long as possible. I have heard of nova engines going like over 10 gallons and that what Im after. I have been running the o.s. line of engines for a while now but they just dont seem to last more than 3-5 gallons before they start flamming out and all pinch is gone. One thing Im nervous about is its cold here in Maryland. Will this hurt the long term performance of my new nova If I break it in in the cold weather

pickle311 01-26-2011 05:11 PM

Follow the break in bible here and always pre heat your motor before starting it.

topcat-lll 01-26-2011 05:30 PM

Always Pre-Heat!!!!!!

What about the seals on the exhaust, are they in good shape?

i think he is actually saying that the engine feels low in the compression department :tire:

flame outs? lack od low end punch? two tell tale signs of compression loss

Guys help me out Im trying to find out the size of the 4 head screws and the 4 backplate screws on my new toro nero team. Im replacing them with socket head screws no more flatheads. The screws are NOT 2mm, 2.5, 3, or 3.5mm they are in between 2.5-3mm for the head screws and 2-2.5mm for the backplate. The tonys screws kit for nova engines doesnt fit either. Could they be us standard sizes?

Is there a way to confirm that? I have no special tools calipers or anything. I didnt bother contacting nova they wouldnt tell me a thing im sure and it would take a month for a response

RB has the complete hex screw set pre-packaged.
Here is a link to the hex screw set,

Are you sure that those are the exact size? Can you confirm them fitting a toro nero

The toro nero uses the same size screws as all the others from novarossi
