Very few runs the P5 here in Europe. Seems like the P5 is much more popular in the US. BTTs are killer engines. Great liniar power and mileage.

I found the Btt to be a great engine. Very smooth, great top end. I just started running a differenent version of Nova Engines so my Btt is reserved for back up duty.

From Novarossi's facebook page:

ABOUT New Off-Road Carburettor

ADAM DRAKE: “The three needle carb (24067) is very nice to be able to fine tune the power band for the best performance.
The feel of the engine with this carb (24066) was better.
It had a richer and more torq...ue feel on bottom and seemed like the mid range was leaner which allowed the engine to spool up quicker and the top end speed was the same.”

BEN PANIC: “I used one of the Novarossi engines during the race and I was really impressed with the speed. The new 3 needle carb also gives an excellent idle which the old carb tended to have issues with.
The sound and consistency is really good now. I would defiantly go with it for 2014 engine lineup.”

What size rear bearing does the Keep Off 21-7 have in the rear? Mine needs to be replaced after 2 gallons.

Unfortunately you can only use the novarossi replacement part

its 14.5x26mm but like I said you cant use a standard bearing

Eastside777 12-15-2013 04:47 AM

Where can I get this bearing?

So I broke the clutch bell screw off inside the crank. I dremmeled a slot in the end of the crank to try and unscrew it. The screw driver caught on the crank and broke it off. Instead of paying $100 + for a new crank would the Ofna 10091 pictured work? It's a plus 4btta.

Ok so I just ordered both of these for $9 shipped. they are HPI a805 and 806. Hopefully it will work. The dimensions of the longer one are:

Total length: 27mm (1.06")
Shaft diameter: 5mm (0.20")
Shaft length: 16mm (0.63")
Inner thread size (crankshaft): 5mm
Inner thread size (clutch bell screw): 3mm

And shorter one:

Total length: 21.4mm (0.845")
Shaft length: 10.7mm (0.42")
Inner thread size (crankshaft): 5mm
Inner thread size (for clutch bell screw): 3mm

You just need to look in the right places for engine parts:

I take out broken clutch screws all the time for people. The best way is in a lathe with a left handed drill bit.

Novarossi BX 21 3T

Hi guys

What do you know about this engine, a Nova BX 21 3 ports, please? Have you ever heard of this one?

Thanks a lot :)

Any word on where I can purchase the rear bearing for the Keep Off 7 port.

Rex,

Can I make a collet to do the same with a 3 jaw chuck on a lathe?

You could make a sleeve to go over the crank and slot it. A 3 jaw chuck may work to hold on to the crank, maybe put some tape on it so it doesnt mark it up.

Make a Google search on "Novarossi 16006" or get it straight from Monty :-)

On Novarossi' homepage you can find all the part numbers for your engine:

Are these a new line of motors from novarossi or are they replacing the keep off's?

I'm just guessing here, pure speculation, but I'm assuming this is just a facelift/rename of the P5XLT and that sort of range of entrylevel-marketed engines, trying to appeal more to young people I guess.

Anybody want the bloody engine?
Bloody Off-Road .21

Displacement: 3.5cc
Ports: 4
Crankshaft: Turbo SG – 013
Carburettor: 09 reverse
Glowplugs: Turbo C7TF

beidle99 12-21-2013 02:47 AM

By looking at the pic of the new engine line. Looks like only 2 engines will be for off-road, The Bloody and the Loco.

Who thought up those names.. I mean what customer groups are they trying to reach, Twilight-vampire-fans or what..?

From the name you get no idea what sort of engine it is, bloody? Well fangs usually come in pairs, does that mean it's a two-port?

P5 - yes, you know it's a 5-port. 4btt, yes it's a four-port. Bloody? Does it have something to do with blood-diamonds or vampires? Live? Does that mean we need pay per view subscriptions or DSL to get one?

I just don't see the reasoning behind these names.

+1 I agree. First Keep Off or On, now we get Bloody and Loco.

Herrsavage 12-21-2013 06:50 AM

Clearly the head of marketing there at NR has gone insane..

The Keep names were bad enough. Now he's just lost the plot altogether. What's next after the threatening "Keep-off", followed by the more explicitly violent "Bloody" - the Prison Time, or Death Row?

EJF 12-21-2013 08:04 AM

what size bearings does a nova 21+4 require, i need to replace mine and am unable to find a straight answer, it is a nova 21+4, steel bearing engine. I plan on replacing the rear bearing with a ceramic, leave the front as a regular steel, or should i just put 2 ceramics in it?

Rear bearing is 14 x 25.8 x 6 I would go with the steel nova 17011 front bearing and ceramic rear.

Are the names because of Amanda Knox?

Hope someone has some advice on this, Just picked up some new Novas, BTT WC 4 port, Bonito and P5XLT, also got 2 9901/41021 combos and a Orion 2058 which was supposed to be Werks, My Bad on that one LOL, how will this 2058 perform being wrong one, trying to decide which pipes to run on each motor, BTT for Buggy which pipe? Bonito for Truggy which pipe? P5 backup for buggy which pipe? my backup for truggy is a Toro Nero with 9901/41021 combo, also have Dynamite 2081, Orion 2013 (from my Nitrotecs) and a GRP 2053 and Losi RE-10, any advice would be greatly appreciated Thanks Guys

I run 9901 and 029 with those, I think 021 is same length as 029 but 021 is wider curve, so should do same job.
I just like 9901. With that I run 0.9 springs.

Does anyone know if the newer style heads fit the old plus 4's. I have the older version and love how it runs but hate the huge head and would like to change it out for the newer smaller one. Thanks for any advice.

No, doesn't fit. (Crankcase square top, newer have machined round top so low cg head can drop down over it)

I was thinking of making one out of brass. I will keep that in mind the next time someone has a broken screw. Thanks.

Any new experience out there with the Roma? I've seen a few people complain about bearing problems for ex.(and possibly rods?), which would make me a bit wary, for an engine in that price class..

The Roma is a very good engine. I raced one for a few months without any bearing or rod issues at all. The engine had a very smooth power band with a strong top end. The mileage was average, I was around 9 mins give or take. For a truggy I would put this in between a p5 and the keep off 21-7. 9901 pipe with either 021 header or 001 (more punch).

The Roma is very reliable and can handle high RPMs better than any other large (.22+) engine. It's popular with the GT racers and they spin them to high RPMs (35k-40k) without a problem.

Eastside777 12-30-2013 07:20 AM
