BEST .21 Nitro engine for buggy and pipe

Mark from powerhouse says he may hook me up... What do you racers think of his mods?
I am thinking i want the N21R, or the P5XL. The +4 is a little pricy... Keep the thoughts coming though, i want the right engine

I am into the Picco's more then the other engines..... not that any of the other engines aren't great or anything, I just really like the responsiveness and power the Picco's have.... IMO the engine to get would be a Jammin JPX/Picco P7 EVO 3 on a JP-4... They are powerful, reliable and last a long time as well they are priced very good.... If your after something with some serious snot then a modified version would be my choice....

would definatley recommend the novarossi P5 XL Turbo if possible, just recently brought one of these after selling my RB WS9, the difference in the smoothness of the lower - mid power band is awesome. doing much better times despite the less power, as im racing much more tidy. Highly recommended, BY FAR THE BEST ENGINE I HAVE OWNED SO FAR. easy to tune, easy to break in and best of all Novarossi quality. Great on fuel. And an absolute bargain. Hope this helps

alright... i have come to a narrow decision between the standart or the turbo... I have never used a turbo so can anyone explain what the actual plug differences are??? thanks

The only decision you have to make is which plug you feel you would like to run. The difference between plugs is the turbo uses tapered threads and uses the taper at the end of it to seat against the head insert which eliminates the need for a copper washer. The standard plugs use straight threads and a copper washer to create the seal.
As far as performance differences, I have tested this many many times and the fact is, if you compare the same plugs in the same engine, they will perform the same. Many will argue this point but the fact is that it is a coil that glows due to current resistance and depending on the thickness of the coil and the fuel's flash point, that will dictate when the mixture ignites. The engine doesn't know the difference between turbo and standard plugs if they are the same heat range and type ie: shortbody or longbody. Standard plugs are cheaper than turbo so if you are on a budget, that will be the way to go plus the P5XL is cheaper than the XLT. Not by much but $10 is $10 especially when there isn't any performance differences between the two.
I run run the C6 series plugs in my P5 and I switched chambers in between rounds with a fellow racer to show him that there wasn't a difference between the plugs. We switched inserts and without touching the needles on either, both engines ran the same temps, time and tune as they did with the other chamber.
I have done this with many different brands of engines all with the same result. Take it for what it is worth.

I run jpx(picco)21 w/086 double bend header in truggy and get about 10 minutes in truggy. also as metioned earlier the rb hobby 9(mine with turbo button for $20 ebay) is what i run in buggy i also use with a double bend short with 086 and get over 11 in buggy easily with great smooth power. both of these combos are under $300 and will last 8+ gallons easy if used properly if not more. only reason i said +4 earlier is cause of your spending limit. really tho there is absolutely no reason to over spend

yeah, the ninja with the 086 was my initial choice, but its up there, and ive heard its got a jumpy powerband... I doubt its true, but its probably already out of the question anyway
