plug, fuel, tune, pipe, clutch, venturi, tires, air, ALOT of things have to work in "sync" to get the perfect power/runtime

any other questions just ASK :)

Coming from racing OS's for years i can say that i've never had luck getting better mileage with smaller carb inserts or limiting throttle endpoints. Like Ryan said it's having a good package or combination involving all he mentioned. Driving habits being up near the top of the list. I'm new to the B5 scene. I do have a Clockworks modded engine and i'm not on here to promote modded engines. I'm posting because Neal found a package that works best with his modded engine and told me exactly what to run in my truggy; pipe, plug, clutch, etc. What i ended up with is an excellent running engine, great power delivery and the best fuel mileage of any engine at our track in my truggy. Oh and i ditched the 7mm and put a speed 8mm insert in carb. The OS insert doesn't fit properly as it's taller than the werks inserts, but seats in the carb body well. I guess my point is that the package is matched well, i'm using a bigger insert and getting the best mileage at the track. I'm not even going to mention the power advantage it has since as i mentioned it's modified. Not sure what a stock B5 runs like but judgeing from the posts and reviews, it's doing pretty well.

Yep no luck for an easy out from Lowe's or Ace

As a last resort what you can do is put a small cut off wheel on your dremel and cut a groove in the end of the screw. If there is any sticking up you can just cut the end of the screw, if not you might have to slice into the end of the crank a little. Then heat up the crank and use a fine tip flat head screw driver inserted into the groove to take the screw out.

That's exactly what I had to do.

Thanks for all the ideas & I guarantee it won't happen again!

JP3 will be good enough... Till you get a Werks pipe:D

The Jp3 does run good on it though.

b5

I ran my b5 in truggy i was hoping it would displace my os 28,i was disappointed so i got a jx21,it matched the b5.I sold the b5 to a friend he put in a buggy it was competitive with anything there. One season on it no issues, good on fuel, well worth the money.I may try a clockwork b5 next year.

You are going to be hard pressed to find any .21 that will match the torque of a .28 engine. Having said that though a stock JL .21 that is a little different and should not be a problem with a properly tuned engine. Most people find the B5 too much for a buggy anyways. If I may ask though why are you running an.28 in a buggy? You can't race with it.

I started running b5 in truggy, then sold it to a friend who ran it in buggy.I just wanted to say it ran as well as most 21's and was competitive with no running issues. At a great price.

i have ran just about ever motor out it well know i have.
ron has taken care of me and let me be apart of the great team of guys here.
i must say i ran truggy on small to huge tracks and my werks b5 2013 and # 5 plug had ran with the best of them.

yes at time a b5 on the bottom can be a bit much for buggy but with a 2057 it smooth as glass :)

thank you ron for the great motors and fuel and all the help you give all us
