Your friends must be very hard on their engines, I don't think i've heard of anybody blowing them up like that. Especially 2 in one day.

Yeah cars weren't running hot like 230 so I don't know what happened

BTW I just opened my B5 up for inspection after 6 gallons and everything looks brand new and spins free.

sounds like a troll to me. if not sorry but come on 2 rods in one day with that little of fuel.

alexrckid 09-03-2010 07:39 PM

um....were the rods installed with the lube hole facing the front of the engine..?? and, what "part" of the rod was blown.....bushings..?? split rod..?? or..????

We have quite a few B5's and B6's at my track and no one has blown a rod. I have just over 7 gallons (hit that mark today!) without any issues.

Werks 09-03-2010 09:21 PM

It is a little unusual to have two different people on the same day at the same track have the same issue. Are they by chance running the same brand/type of fuel?

Having said that though standing behind my products is really important to me and we warranty all of our engines. So if they contact me at the office I will ask them to send them on so that I can take a look at them. If it's deemed to be a manufacturing related issue their engines will be replaced under warranty.

Awesome support Ron, I took my B5 apart the other day just to see how everything was looking and after 3 gallons it still looks like new inside. Now if the cooling head looked the same I would be happy LOL!

Finished 3rd today at fastraxx. I was in 2nd for a while but then landed on a rock or something killing the engine (99.9% possitive it wasn't the engine flaming) but worked my way back up to 3rd. Can't wait for the Pro series race at the factory in a couple weeks! I'll be running my B6 then though.

My B5 today was running right around 200 degrees (it even felt lean) and after a 5 min qualifier I had a half of a tank left in it still. These engines are just unreal. I love them.

King Rc in King, NC I tq'd pro buggy and truggy. Won truggy and had a steering servo wire come loose from the reciever in the buggy main. I lost about 5 laps, who would have thought that could happen. B6 with 2057 in buggy B5 with 2057 extended in truggy. Motors were great all day!!
