Need some help guys. I have B5 with the updated carb. It was running great through about 3 gallons. Then at the Nats during my main my clunk broke inside my tank. It didn't blow up or go to pieces but it looked like the filter part just came off the little metal tube that goes in the fuel line. I ended running about 3 or 4 more laps until I pulled the car. Not sure how hot it got but it was def HOT. It would drive ok until I'd hit a big jump or bump which would cause the fuel line to get air instead of fuel.
Ok now the issue I'm having is holding a steady idle once the engine gets up to temp. I'm worried that the engine might be done b/c its acting alot like an old engine. It will idle good but once it gets hot the idle will hold for 7-10 seconds then drop off quickly and want to die. I've messed with the settings and it seems to react the same way no matter if the bottom is fat or lean. Also tried new tank and plug. I raced it last weekend at the same track and had two flame outs. Then I did some testing in the backyard yesterday(sick home track) and it was still having the idle issues. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I had Alan Burton from the Speed Shop do a repinch on it and I ran it this past weekend no problems at all.. you might have to go that route, these engines are pretty durable, I spent 20 bucks to Alan Burton and a new plug but thats it. something to think about anyway. |

To be honest that is about the only thing I haven't checked yet. But it was pretty new clutch, bearings(i change my clutch bearing pretty much everytime i pull the end bell off) and end bell prior to this last race. So I really don't think that will be it but that is my next plan. I'm going to give it a good clean and see what happens.

I was running a P3 and then went to a 97T which seemed to run better.
My current settings are about 2.5 out on top, 4.5 out on bottom(looks like about 1mm in from flush) and appox .5mm idle gap. Idle prior was pretty solid. I wouldn't say perfect, had a bit of high rev prior to dropping but would then idle strong. I'm running Byrons 40% and live at about 5500ft. |

light, medium and heavy flywheel...medium on the engine I was wondering what collet you used. Would I use the one that came with my Mugen or the B5 or does this come with another collet to match the flywheel? |

I took it out of my buggy to inspect it a few races back and dropped it so I tryed the stock mugen collet and it wasnt long enough. so if you use the mugen collet I think you need shims behind it. |
