Hey guys. Just wanted to report from last weekend. Both B5's helped me to a TQ in Pro Buggy and Pro Truggy and the Wisconsin Nitro Series this past weekend. I won truggy by a little over a lap, and my air filter got plugged with water in buggy with 30 seconds left!

My engines were awesome this weekend! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgegDx8FuoA

There was only one other person in buggy AND truggy that could go over 9 minutes on a tank of fuel (I pitted at 10:15 in truggy), and guess what engine he had. :sneaky: A WERKS B5:sneaky:. BOOYAH!

Brad

Thats a crazy way to race. Nice video though. Which one is your car i wold like to see the b5 running.

Hey Brad great race this past weekend! I thought it was going to get rained out so I never made the trip. You going to Round 3 of the Midwest Series this weekend? If so see you there!:nod:

Hey Ron,
there were a LOT of B5's at the Alabama race this past weekend. Congrats to Mo Denton on the wins in Open Buggy and Truck. Mo, I never could find where you were pitting, and I didn't want to mess with a guy getting onto and off of the driver's stand... but I saw you drive: Ladies and Gentlemen, Mo really is 1fastguy:nod:

I'll have a load of alabama B5 pics coming shortly.

Lets just say I had nothing to lose. lol. The car up front of course, no one could keep up with that B5 ;). I had a 2057 pipe on it, and I'm really liking that combo on my buggy.

I really wish I could have gotten video of my truck. That motor turned heads every time down the straightaway, that 2013 advertises itself. hehe.

Joey - Yea, we raced in the rain. This would have been the 4th year for the Expert A to get rained out. Just couldn't let that happen this year. I'd like to hit up Monroe next weekend, but the wallet is going to get a break this week. I have 4 race weekends in a row after this weekend coming up, so major preparations are taking place! Good luck over there!

I guess your the one up front with the orange buggy... That was some great running on a muddy track. You were flying around the track with the B5.

I just picked up my B6 from my mailman.. I cant wait to do the break in on both the B5 and B6 engine. Im looking forward on doing at least 1 this weekend if the weather is nice. I have the werks 2013 pipe for them. :D

Got my B5 and 2013 pipe yesterday and got it mounted in my MBX6T! All went very well. Going to start breaking in tonight. Can't wait to see what she can do! Have been running VSpec Pro Mods (which I really do like, except the price) Going to be awesome to have a motor that will perform equally at 1/2 the price! Oh yeah, it looks really cool in there too!

I think you are going to be in for a hell of a surprise. I have ran a b5 with a 2013, now run a Vspec. All i can tell you is that I miss the bottom end of the b5, as well as the top end. Do not hesitate to run a 14 tooth CB on it, it will more than have the bottom end to get over every jump and the top end with the 14tooth cb will be insane. Hope you got a good throttle/brake servo for the end of the straights of you are going to be eating pipe like i did.

Wait, that did not sound right. You are going to be crashing into the pipe....that sounds better.

Thanks for picking up one of our engines! If you don't mind once you get a chance to run it I would be interested in some feedback on how it compares to the ProMod engine that you were running. I remember reading a bit about those before and some of the stuff that was mentioned on the thread that they were doing did not make a lot of sense to me like hand matching the piston and sleeve by finding the biggest piston to give you the most amount of pinch etc. Basically to me some of the stuff went against conventional wisdom but what do I know. In any case as mentioned, let me know what your thoughts are once you get to run it!

What brand of plugs do you normally use?

B5

Hey guys, just bought a B5 and put it in the HB D8T last night.. I have been running the Sirio ExTech motors for a while now and their support was pathetic and parts were impossible to find so I switched over.. I was wondering if any of HB guys had the same problem with mounted the flywheel that I had. I'm using a 34mm flywheel and I had to toss two shims behind the collet to get everything to fit well.

I'll be breaking in the engine tonight.. anyone have an extra 2013 pipe they want to sell? From what I've read thats the pipe to have for this engine.. I have the 053, 086 and the JP pipes but I'd like to get my hands on a 2013 and try it!

Thanks

On my d8, I just used the savage collet. It is slightly longer than the werks collet. If you use the werks collet, shimming behind it is needed.
