And on his buggy and truggy with the B5's he has been running JP4 pipe's with good success, small indoor track or a big out door track same pipe. Just wanted to share this info this is a good combo.

I've had good success too, honestly. I don't spend much time putting around in part throttle and it doesn't really load up during racing. Would you mind inquiring as to what plug he is using?

Please note that, as I outlined, I always tune my HSN first and re-check my LSN and idle stop as the very last step. I'm very sure this LSN and idle stop is set well. I'm not 'having problems' with the jp4 -- as I have noted repeatedly, when it comes down to racing, I'm doing quite well & getting great runtime. I've never had a single race where I was blaming my motor for anything. I'm just registering an opinion based on my experience. This isn't a problem looking to be solved. On the track, things are well. *I* would like try another pipe.

Mike runs our Werks TLP5BT plug, this is a #5 turbo plug that we make for off-road use (the body is designed to retain a little more heat than an on-road plug). Our #5 plug is slightly warmer than an OS P3 for comparison sake. They are available from a-main for anyone looking for them.

I'd also like to take a second to congratulate Jeremy Kortz on taking second in Pro Buggy at today's JBRL race! With over 200 enteries and all of the Pro's there including Pavidas, Drake etc. etc. it was a hard fought battle! Kortz ran a bone stock B5 engine w/ a single thin shim removed, Werks TLP6BT (#6 Turbo) plug, Werks 2013 pipe, Werks 30% "Race Blend" fuel and a prototype Werks 4 shoe clutch with medium weight flywheel, aluminum shoes and 1.0 springs! Again proof posative that this $199 dollar engine can put you on the podium at any race against any competition!!!

If memory serves me correctly the 97T is slightly colder than the P3.

I've got about 1 1/2 gallons on my B5/2057 now and loving it. Had a few problems with it wanting to flame out after a pit stop but was running the motor to rich on the bottom. The motor was running strong at that setting just would load up when pitting. Leaned the bottom and got the temp up to 220 and it ran perfect. This motor will foul you because it will run strong even a little rich. Great motor keep up the good werks.:nod:

Hi Ron, Just curious about the removing the shim with 30% is it safe for the regular joe to do? and do you gain performance?

Installing a Werks B5 into a HB D8..The kit comes with a ball cup connector for the throttle but the carb has a small round sort of fitting on it...any ideas on how I connect the linkage to the throttle? Thanks

Post pics as something doesnt sound right. The throttle linkage ball cup should fit right on the B5 carb ball. Sounds like maybe the carb ball on the motor fell off the carb? Its held on by a set screw.

Removing one of the thin shims will bump up the compression ratio a little bit. This will give you a bit more torque and is a relatively safe thing to do. Just dropping a thin shim will make a small change to the compression ratio, so it is not huge and as I mentioned will be safe to do IF you are comfortable tuning your engine and know how to do it properly.

Id also like to congratulate our Swedish importer Model Marin on their results this weekend at Round 2 of the Swedish Cup! I'm happy to say that Werks "Race Blend" fuel took 1st and 2nd position at the race, link below:

Ron, how many shims are in stock?

20% or 30%? only one person responded and said 30. Any success on 20% and what do you reccomend for the first gallon? And can you explain the major difference between the two, will it run cooler with 30? And I will be running Byrons... Just waiting on your response so I can go get it before my b5 is here on Thursday!

Oops, forgot to mention that we also took TQ with Mikael
Johansson also using out Race Blend 30%! So that gave us TQ, 1st and 2nd!!!
