+1, I put ARO on the carb seals and insert seals between runnings to keep the seals from drying out.

How do you guys think the JP1 pipe would do for fuel mileage? Has anybody tried this with the 7mm carb restr.? Also, if I tried it with the 6.5 would this be a good combo?

Flip back 20 or so pages and I think that there are a few pages where people were posting testing results with different pipes. IMO though the JP1 is an ok pipe who's big advantage in the past was that it was built like a brick you know what. Having said that now most pipes are really rugged including our new 2013 and 2057's who's performance characteristics are matched to this engine. I really think that you are not seeing the true potential of the motor if you are not running the pipe. So I guess what I'm saying is if you have the JP1 and it's your only pipe it is obviously going to work, but if you want the max possible performance pair it up later when you get the chance to pick one up with the 2013 or the 2057!

Regards,

Ron

Also forgot to mention that the 7mm restrictor is the stock one that comes with the engine. The 6.5mm will give you about 20 sec. more run time with a slight reduction on top end (compared to the 7mm). Venturi's are a valuable tuning aid and honestly something that most people should have in their pit box or seriously consider adding if they do not. They are a low cost, easy and quick to change, tuning aid.

Regards,

Ron

Apparently, front engine bearings do not like him!

Not to mention the fact that he's obviously a local to the guys at Massive Mods. I'm sure they are the "well known engine modders" he is refering to, who also produce the fuel he's defending! The proof is in the posts!!!
notice the engine held together ! i like the b5 in fact id prob buy another b5 down the track but will be putting ceramics in it out of the box !!!!

On the bearing thing.... Its easy to blame WERKS becasue he is on this thread any easy to get a hold of, but there are people having failures with that fuel. NO one else had bearing problems and this engine has been out for 6 months or so and probrably thousands of them out there being used.

So with that fuel having complaints with engine issues and you being the only one, I think its unfair to blame WERKS for that. And In my opinion its pretty good of Ron to offer parts at a discount.... JUst my opinion
+1 on this! I have had several phone calls with Ron on tuning help and other newbie to nitro questions and was never blown off. Ron is on this thread pretty much 24-7 answering all of our questions. I am a WERKS fan from this point on Getting ready to order another B5 for my new buggy with a 2057 Werks pipe! Ron's the man

That's what she said.

Anyone else going to the Canadian Indoor Offroad Shootout with a B5 or two? I'll be running them in both buggy and truggy, will be my first race with the B5s. One more month.

Wish they were in yesterday I placed an order yesterday and well another one today to get the pipe and the restrictors.

So for longer run time on the 2057 do I want to the extender to make it long or no extender.

The difference between long and short in runtime is not going to be huge. The major difference is going to be in the power band. Short will shift it upwards giving less bottom end and more top (which may help reduce fuel consumption bit more), running longer will give more bottom and less top (some what closer to the 2013 in performance). Hope this helps!

Ron

Austin, go to bed

once you get that 2057 and get the b5 the rest of the way broken in, you'll be stealing it from yer kid and giving him your nova... this is my prediction. B5+2057+6mm = 15 minutes if you keep your trigger finger in check.
