be careful running P3's... you run a risk of breaking the element and sending it through the engine if you run out of fuel, I would stick with P4's.

That's good stuff Noddy2.

I have tried almost all the pipes and glow plugs on that list you made.

My favorites are a OS P4 Plug with a Reckward 2041 pipe.

As far as tuning it is going to vary by fuel, clutch choices, and air density that people are running and the way the weather is on a certain day.

Thanks Michael.---I got the pipe today.Am racing this weekend at Moranbah Qld Aus. cant wait to try,it's a big layout ,real long main straight, lots of short straights, and hi-speed corners,Hee-Harr.:lol::lol:

+1. I run the same setup and like it

So where does this leave me?

Ed,
With all the recent changes with the JS engine line over the last month, I wonder where this leaves me. I have been waiting patiently for some news, while your were trying to locate an engine from a dealer and have not heard a word. Will I ever receive a replacement engine from you?

Hello Chris, I really don't know what to say.

I replaced your engine, that's why you were told by JOE ALESSI over 3 months ago that he had your replacement engine. Joe then sold your engine not telling me or you, nor did Joe pay me for that engine. So now I'm stuck in the middle.

no matter what happened, JOE worked for YOU so you are liable for his actions good or bad give the man a engine good god!

EBMods 05-26-2011 06:55 AM

Chris, here is the email for the factory [email protected] I'm sure they will send you a replacement just as they did for Tony Newland when his engine blew the clip out with 3.5 gallons on it, yours had less than a gallon.

Ryan if I had an engine I would send him another one licky split.... I think Joe should be held liable for his actions as well don't you?

The factory owes me money for all the engines I returned to them, so far I have replaced close to $20,000 out of my pocket on factory defective engines.

blktransam 05-26-2011 08:11 AM

sure Joe should be held liable 100% but you being the distributer and team owner for the eb mods team should take care of your customers good or bad it sucks but thats is just the way it is.

Has anyone tried other carburetors? The standard on both my engines often gets stuck and doesn't move freely. I tried cleaning them both several times

taminhchau1983 07-08-2011 01:00 AM

i'm locate in Vietnam use this engine with JP1 pipe
this is good enigne i'm using the second one(the first one was damaged when sand come inside the engine because of poor air filter) and seem to be it will still be my next choise
after shipped to Vietnam it cost about 270$ for the stock one:mad:

Hello Khaliffen, please check your end points to verify the slide is not over-traveling past the carburetor body opening. You don't want the slide to travel past this point at wide open throttle. If the slide over travels it will shake inside the carburetor body and bind. If this doesn't solve your problem please let me know.

EBMods 07-08-2011 05:30 AM

sorry double post

Thank you for the reply.

I have checked my end points several times and the slide does not over travel, nor did it on my old JS engine, where I had the same problem. So unfortunately your proposal does not solve my problem

Sprinkler 07-11-2011 05:53 AM

I have 3 JS Racing engines for sale if anyone is interested.

JS Racing 23 Race Prep Hellfire engine: New in the box sealed in plastic $ 175

JS Racing 21 Engine new in box: $170 w/ Dynamite 086 pipe

JS Racing 21 Engine new in box: $170 w/ Dynamite 086 pipe

$300 for both 21 engines and 2 pipe combos.

Your slide may have a burr on the idle screw groove. You will need to remove the slide and check for burrs. Check the inside of the carburetor body as well. If this isn't the problem then maybe contact the factory direct at:
[email protected]

If this is the problem it usally happens when adjusting the idle screw in the clockwise direction, the screw hits the slide which has spring tension from the throttle arm. It's good practice to always open the throttle when adjusting the idle screw.

When you are inspecting the slide also look at the inside carburetor body to see if the slide is being pulled straight. The inside surface will have wear marks from the slide which should be centered.

Please check the piston skirt isn't broke on the exhaust port side. On some engines at TDC the piston skirt travels past the bottom of the port and will catch on the down-stroke and break.

ETA around Christmas / New Year we should have production started on the new .21 engine. Team Drivers and Hobby Shops will have samples to test in Mid-October. This engine will be completly made in the USA, with some of the parts machined in-house at EBMods and other parts out sourced to machine shops.

As we get closer to testing I will have updates and more info about the engine.

EBMods 07-16-2011 12:03 PM

Oh and I have to say I'm VERY excited about this,,, I wish we could speed the process up but small steps first, with lots of testing. It's an amazing feeling everytime we finish a part!!!!!!

Bruce53 07-16-2011 12:20 PM

hey Ed , send one my way !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jbright33 07-16-2011 06:41 PM

I have 2 questions.
1. Is the 9901 Nova pipe comparable to the 2041 in performance and mpg?
2. On the race prep JS do I need to run more break-in tanks through it or is it pretty much ready for race tune right away?

My JS .21 is up on the for sale section. Broke in motor and ran 2 tanks. Only $95 for a quick sale. 7.5 venturi. It rips! Only selling because it just bought two os speeds on a hookup. Ebmods make awesome motors!

ebmod can dial in horrible motors like js for example and also can make a good engine into an outstanding engine like ninjas...ive had my hands in 4 js of 2 different friends of mine and of the 4, the only one even decent was the full mod hellfire..its a great engine after I threw the p.o.s. carb away and installed a os 21j..the others were all race preps and are total walmart garbage! look into the exhaust port and look rite underneath the piston skirt, etc...but getting ed to return a simple, short email. takes a month per message and forget about phones....sucks cuz the man is very smart and talented and wish we could do more business together but communcation is the key...neal at clockworks knows about communication and the importance of customers from what im finding out..
