All this talk about how great this motor is has me interested. I already have a EB V-Spec, so I am looking for a motor for my truggy now. Is everyone talking about the motor in it's stock configuration, race prepped, or full mod? I am leaning toward the race prepped, that way it is checked, and ready to go when I get it. I hate breaking motors in.
The only pipes I currently have are Jammin JP2 and JP3. Will these pipes perform well with this motor, or should I get the 086 I see everyone talking about?

Thanks for your time,
Stephen

Stephen, All EBMods engines are check over before they leave EBMods, even the box stocker. As for pipes, the 086 is the best overall preforming pipe to date. The JS is not very sensitive to pipes and seems to run well with many different pipes, so with that said try what you have before you buy, but if you buy go for the 086.

I took my Fully modded JS out for a spin yesterday. It was a pleasent surprise. It has a smooth powerband, which made it easy for me to control power. With 7.5 insert it had a competetive fuel economy and on the straight it seemed to have just and inch more top speed than the average engines i was racing against (top line RB's and Novarossi's). However, the straight was fairly short, so it was difficult to say for sure.

One problem i noted was that the carburator didn't seem to move so smooth. I compared it to some of my older engines (a Go and a Novarossi) and it was clearly more tight. It was the same for my buddies FM JS. Any ideas or thoughts on this experience?

I dont know what JS(full mod, or stock)engine that was in open buggy A-main I think on the track at Motorama but that thing was moving. Everybody that I talked to that I saw with this engine love it. I talked to Ed Bridges also and the 086 pipe is the best pipe for this engine. He stilling testing with other pipes but that is the best so far.

I just want to say thanks to Ed for making a great engine I ran the full mod in buggy and the race prep in truggy and they both were super strong and smooth. Also i would like to thank Joe Alessi for make some great products to support the engines. Both guys are class acts and they products are beyond compare. I am proud to be on teams that have products at the top of the game. If you have not seen these products in action you should check them out, you will not be disappointed. Thanks again Ed and Joe

Default EB JS FULL MOD ROCKS !

+1 The EB mods JS engine is a contender! Ran the full mod in expert buggy @ Motorama and could not be happier! Only regret is that my driving did not match the perfomance of the engine and car. Got to meet Ed and Really was impessed that he is a racer just like us!!! Not just a buisnessman trying to push a product. Way to go ED you hit a home run with this engine. Thanks again.

Now if Amain would get the Race Prep JS in Stock I could buy one. Can't justify the full mod.

My JS Race Prep ran phenomenal. I am thoroughly impressed. I ran it with an 053 pipe because I like a smoother transition from bottom end to top end power. Im not a top end pipe kind of guy. Like Joe said, the engine doesn't really seem to be very pipe sensitive to run properly. Just install the type of pipe that you are going to want to drive: Low, Mid, or Top.

Plus fuel mileage was great and I was running a bit on the rich side. So I know I can easily get more. But do I want all that power it produces!?

What is awesome is that I didnt even have to break the motor in or worry about needle settings from the factory when trying to start the bad boy up for the first time. Plus, I already knew that out of the box, the motor runs. EB, you have a 1 of a kind product!

Very many thanks to Lucky 7 RC and EB Mods for making some really great products.
