would love to have a hard hitting bottom end pip with over 10 min run time, what do you think?

id stick with the 086 then. try experimenting with the carb inserts. even with the #8 in you should definitly get over 10 mins in truggy as i did 8 mins today in my buggy with over1/4 tank left with the 7.5 insert. but this was on a short track but truggy should be able to get 11-12 mins

^^^ oh and my temps were only around 190 maybe 200 at most

jbright33 02-07-2010 10:05 PM

joe how did you do at the race?

I am looking hard at this engine for my 6T and was wondering if someone can clear this up for me. I believe I read somewhere that you have to run this engine with EB mods fuel. Now is this true, I now there is a chance the run time won't be as good, higher temps, etc etc using a different fuel. The fuel I will be running will either be O'Donnell or Sidewinder. So if anyone can clear this up for me that would be great.

Thanks

I'm guessing Ed would like you to run his fuel. But you can run what ever fuel you want. OD would be my choice. Would like to try the Prototype Sidewinder fuel.

I ran my JS at a race yesterday for the first time in my MBX6. I really loved the engine. Very Easy to tune, smooth power and plenty of it. Temps never got over 190 and I was able to run 11+ minutes on a tank of fuel.
BTW...I am running the stock engine, w/ 7mm restrictor and the Dynamite 086pipe.

Wow 190?? Most engines spit raw fuel out of the carb at 190. Is that just how these engines run? I haven't heard of temps like that since the old grp's

jbright33 02-08-2010 06:58 AM

you can run other fuels but it might hurt your fuel milage and power and your motor might not last as long.

My Ninja JX-21's don't run over 200 degrees either and I have good fuel mileage. It all depends on where you are at and the tune on the engine and the fuel you run.
I run the EB Mods fuel only!!!

Peter Martin 02-08-2010 08:53 AM

9 to 10 minutes with Sidewinder Prototype fuel. Temps...same range.

jbright33 02-08-2010 09:12 AM

i could have leaned mine out more yesterday but it was plenty enough power was pulling away from nova 21-4c on the streight away

Just ran the full mod engine for the 2nd time, the same race as John mentioned above. Running 2050 pipe and sidewinder prototype fuel, ran 10 minute fuel stops with no problem. Motor has lots of power and my temps never got above 215. I've already ordered my 2nd motor !!!

Thats the same as a OS 2050 ? maybe try a OS 2060 run times should go up with better mid to top end ?
