Ray -
Thanks for your help spec'ing out my engine.
A little history for you all:
Ray has worked on my engines for the last season plus. I have a motor that was acting funny (Not holding a tune and going from mild to wild) I called him up and asked if I could send him my engine and what he thought 'might' be the problem. After a conversation and conversing (Tolerances) over the phone. We figured out the crank pin had a .0045 or (.009 Total run-out) of wear. This is causing the tune to run away in both directions. And, while having the crank out, replacing the rear bearing and rod wouldn't be a bad idea
.
I just wanted to say - Thanks Again Ray for all your support!!!!
If you come to GA for the PNB you'll get to see your engine at there best
and have a great time to boot!!!

Ray don't worry about it. I live at another location and is about 5 miles from my home. I live with my girlfriend and haven't been home yet to check the mail. Like I said don't worry!! I go sometimes to check it about 1 or 2 weeks. It's easier on my wallet when it comes to the bills.

Thanks Robert,
For the reasons we discussed FIRST "Carb Rebuild" / replace needle O rings. I very much need a road trip down south, with The Psycho Blast pulling my interest at this time. We'll do our bast
Thank You Greg,
I am very relieved to know package is likely at your home, and that your folks there just didn't make mention of arrival. Shipping and receiving does keep me on my toes, especially international shipments. Anyhow,USPS is very safe form of domestic shipping as far as I'm concerned.

Bump for you Ray. This gentleman is very knowledgeable and his work is just terrific. I have had great success with rayaracing, and turned a lot of friends over to Ray as well, and they rave about him. I can't say enough about him really. Has taught me a few things as well that's for sure.
For any of you who have been holding off on pinching/conditioning nows the time! Ray is still home nursing some wounds as he is not back to work yet, and needs to fill up his day!
Theres a bunch of us out here who know he loves to be in the shop!
Hope you don't mind Ray, ha ha I just dont want you getting bored on us thats all lol....

I see many of the type you describe.
Please take note of invoice notations with your reconditioned-resized piston+sleeve sets following servicing. I know you will find interesting. TraxxasJunky,
You know it im bored working half the hours i'm used to. The upside is I got a few of my own engines ready, along with a good start preparing buggy for upcoming race season.

and have a great time to boot!!!I have a used V-Spec crank with nowhere near that surface wear that YOU CAN HAVE. Aprox 0.0017" surface wear and 0.0035" high + low measurement. If it were me I'ed use it, get a TKO rear bearing $12 or so, Conrod $30, couple carb HS + LS needle O rings $6.
I also have the NIB vspec piston + sleeve set along with NIB head button you can have at cost. I will throw in package a 11 gallon history vspec engine I ran thru last season, rebuilt at around 8 gallons. Needs back plate a few screws and few carb Orings.

I'll be happy with a return of money I spent for the new piston + sleeve set, still in package. The crank ,conrod, and rear bearing in good shape my VSpec. I think your piston+sleeve set in better shape of two used items. You may not be far from having two running Vspecs. All cleaned up,packaged, ready to ship.

New Vspec Piston+Sleeve set AMAIN HOBBIE $130 plus shipping. Roberts cost for above package $100 Shipped. Robert has first dibs.

After more than a few thousand sets I may have that feel for that sweet spot.
Your set required going an extra tenth mabee 2 more than the average. It's allways nice to hear how everything ran after the 1,2,3 or so gallon mark.Worked on my own engines this weekend, getting ready for new race season here in Western New York, still another 3 months off. Gone thru and boxed ready to race 2 of last years engines. Today went to my shop at country place Started heatcycling on the box a new engine, finding my throttle servo bad when ready for the ground
Ow well, theres next weekend. I get just as excited working on my own engines
