Well i have a question Ray, whats going on?

I see you give some feedback here on how sets turn out, i have asked a few times here and via email how mine went and no reply ????

Last i heard was it was received, would be sent shortly and should be there in 8 days or so.

I can understand freight delays for non priority packages ... and thats fine but i still havent heard how it went.

I can also understand if it wasnt possible to be done as i know it was loose, with the piston being able to be pushed through the sleeve.

But i just cant understand why there has been no reply??

I also see that i have a refund from you today via paypal and that confuses me too ... and no email or site message to explain that either.

I would of been happy to send another set instead of a refund.

Please let me know whats happeneing, i am a fan of your work but the non replies has been a little confusing, as you seem to be a fairly good communicator.

Yours Sincelrely

Marty

Pedr,
Thanks for the heads up. Much slower delivery than your last order, I believe

Any questions call my cell, text my cell, email will go to my blackberry "CELL" phone.

Martin.

The P/S sets I sent where MG66 ones, I asked Mark about it and he said to send to Ray, so unless Mark has started doing these in the past few weeks I dont think he will be able to help?

[QUOTE=NitoriousRC;8245936]Just thought i would post my RayA experience here for anyone that has been reading along.
I should say firstly i was a big fan of Ray's work although i have never had anything done by him.
By all reports the work and customer service has been outstanding.... i wish i could say the same.

I wrapped my piston, button and sleeve in a peice of anti slip matt (stuff used to airbrush the carbon fibre effect. It was all rolled up like a cigar and the ends folded over and all taped up. I then placed this in a bubble wrap bag which was then sealed in the posrtage envelope. I seriously thought i would receive an overkill award for the packaging!

Martin,
After reviewing the description of your packaging I can confirm your headbutton no doubt was thrown in the trash with the floor mat it was wraped in. I get 5-10 packages most buisness days, and yours I do not feel was unrapped/unpackaged thouroughly. Your envoice showed a headbutton was enclosed and I looked, but not hard enough. The package was damaged . along with a few others that day, and I truely thought the parcel was wrapped seperatly and postal carrier give it a quick fix taping it up loosing "one" of its contents. But again, with your description above I can confirm now I remember the floormat - rubber wrapped tight. and of course I DID NOT UNWRAP it as I should or could have. Furthermore, that same day A few other packages came to me all wet (one of which had 4 sets that need alot of attention shipped from the south. Anywho, that package was shipped to me in a standard flat rate priority small package open on one side, that which I refused delivery from the carrier untill after I had confirmed with customer contents all there. All good with them. But your missing headbutton I had checked with postmaster , and looked hard here, and not found. So there Martin.....you should feel like Sherlock F###in Holms catching RayA throwing out engine parts. Shoot me.... Sorry, but the piston and sleeve set was serviced and return shipped 11-4-10 USPS international post. And with that said, it was lightly honed and resized 0.0005" to a lighter side of my "medium" tight resizing. It should run long and hard for you.

In refernce to your comments as to future service by guys tooled by me , you should, thats what I tool them for. As far as they providing the same detail and accuracy with piston+sleeve reconditioning-resizing ...........

Now Martin, If you are having trouble replacing the missing headbutton with the $29 paypaled you, shoot me a email and I will make a few calls.

Again, I apologise Martin for this inconvenience. No more rubber mats please

Kind regards,

Ray

Ray, i wish we had this discussion about how the package was done earlier, I am an understanding man and know stuff happens.
I was actually thinking about this after i posted it and wondered if perhaps it could of got stuck to the matt and all that tape that had to be discarded.

I was still a little bit confused about the no replies and stuff, i know your a busy man and all.... but perhaps all this could have been sorted earlier.
I could sense somthing was amiss, but it took so long to be told what that was.

The set also arrived today .... was probably in my box before i wrote the previous stuff above. No doubt excellent work done on it.

I have found a button that looks like it fits but its not so clean and also a turbo plug, and it looks like there is also one on ebay.

The refund did help to fix things but being a fair man I do also feel like i need to pay for the work done on the piston and sleeve so i will send you a refund.

And no i dont feel like Sherlock, i feel like a beer!

Martin,
If needed I can reference the size further. Pretty much your base RB X-12, Mugen MT12 headbuttons are interchangable if I remember correctly. You should have a tight-slip fit in the (0.5435") 13.8mm its fitment in sleeve bore.

And for the record, your NovaMega SX12 was one of the more stuburn small block piston+sleeve set resizings. They never seem to hit that "sweetspot" the first attempt, requiring me to "open and close sleeve cylinder" a few times for what I feel is the perfect tapered fit, that results reasonable rebreakin and improved performance'.

Ryan, Call me next month or after the hollidays.

Any questions guys , call, text, email.......or post here on RCTECH. I am servicing orders thru this evenning, LATE.

Thank You Mike,
Feel free to coment at any time with how resizing rebreaks in and performs there after. Although I have done probobly close to 1,000 that engine model, I am still always curious as to performance results and any feedback from the racers running engines resized by me. There are quit a few in your neck of the woods there in the south. Thank you.....and have a nice ThanksGiving, everyone

"Hi there, I bought one of your resizing kits from a fellow racer. I like this resizing kit. I had another person tell me he had sent you a p&s to resize that was pinched allready too far and that you pushed it back out and resized it. Is there any way I can get one of those tools in case I press one too far? I appreciate your input. Thanks Steve"

Guys, I keep repair work inhouse here. Not for any other reason but the fact is my repair equipement is not coast efficient for resale, just as with the honing equipement used here and other prototype tools designed by me and in my box. As I told above guy last week and others over the PAST years, If you get in trouble just send the set here for repair services, that which is with my same reconditioning-resizing order form pricing. If you look back in this thread and other threads others have started other racing forums ,I do not come on and flame my competetors/do it your self pinches on specific sets I perform corective services. I do the job and return ship with notes on invoice as to damages inspected and repairs completed. Period.

Up in the morning , call text or email me with aqny questions or concerns.
