Ok, I have about 12 tanks through my Sirio now. And now when I run it, after I let off of the throttle I get this gargling sound. When it idles it sounds fine, when I pinch the fuel line it revs up. But when I gun it, I can't get up to full speed, and when I let off, it gargles while it revs up for about 2 or 3 seconds, then it goes back to idle. Any ideas of what this may be, or what may cause this??

Sounds your engine is rich at LSN, try leaning 1/8 and do the same test.

Well, I haven't opened it up yet either. But when I do open it up, what am I looking for??

But also, why would it rev high after letting off of the throttle 2 to 3 seconds after I let go?? I'm going to put my TZ 5port in to see if there is a difference.

They still keeps the rpm high because there's fuel on the crankcase and it still can rev... your engine is a tad rich... lean the low-end speed needle and adjust the idle screw according.

Sirio carb adjustment and OS aren't the same nor like the same carb adjustments... from a point of view of a guy with a grasp doing carb adjustments to Nova mills, the LSN of a Sirio is 'too-lean'. This puzzled me the first time I carbed a Sirio until I noticed this.

Ok, I'll check it out..

hi guys,
i do my motor break-in using the WOT method. but now after going thru 10 tanks of fuel (i'm using 25% nitro-already added 0.1mm shim), i can feel my motor compression a bit loose compare to my friend (using OS TZ-5ports-same break-in method, same fuel). i'm wondering whether is this normal?

10 Tanks at WOT? Most you might need to do is 3 or 4.... the rest needs to be done at the track, leaning the engine on each tank.

Probably with 10 tanks, your engine is completely broken-in and a little shot... lean it and see how goes, a low pinch engine doesn't means low performance... try and see.

Corse-R,
what i means is total 10 tanks. i do WOT in 3 tanks. what puzzle me is my motor TDC feels a bit loose (using finger to turn the flywheel). during running, feels that my motor already fully broken-in. i heard that we need almost 2-3 gallons of fuel to completely break-in this motor. performance wise, nothing abnormal observed.

btw, what is the setting for the LSN and HSN recommended (assuming main needle is factory set)?

2-3 Gallons is utter BS for break in and a total waste of time!!! After a round 1 litre or putting around, then gradually leaning (approximately another half a litre) on the track, your done and dusted! The engine is well and truly broken in before you hit the one gallon mark IMO.

Sorry, could not give you a number of turns, but what you'll see on your car is the HSN all the way screwed into the Needle holder (don't scare about it). All carb adjustment varies depending the fuel, nitro percentage and other parameters. If the main needle is factory set, your engine will be way too rich.

Tune it by hear and see it leaves a small trail of smoke and your engine will be happy. If you insist on tunning it by temp, your temp goal should be around 140 or 145ºC.

Do a quick look to the conrod for signs of wear (specially at TDC), probably is what you feel a worn conrod.
