Today after not being able to fix the problem (sometimes it goes 3mins, othertimes 7mins etc) I did some dohnuts/powerslides and noticed it stopped straight away after getting off the throttle. I restarted engine and repeated the dohnuts/power slides got off throttle and engine stopped again straight away so it seems if engine is under a lot of load while throttle is open its (no idea - you got a theory?) doing something anyway. But I can do a high speed WOT and it does not stop :weird: :weird:

Too much/not enough pressure line? aggh going crazy lol..

So what dumb thing am I doing wrong ? :) (Man my .21's are soo much easier!!! lol)

You mean, the engine died after you braked? Anything wrong with the clutch? Or some parts may be binding. :)

Also, we have another local track that last year managed to secure a Roar regional race. I didn't get to attend last year because I was out of town AND low on funds! If they get it again this year, I may actually compete, so I want a legal engine in my car when the time comes.

My thumbs up for You!   :) Good luck on your races.......:)

What carb settings do you have HSN, LSN (turns open from closed)??? I would suggest you start again with 5.5 turns open fror the HSN and 2.5turns open for the LSN. and from there use Josh Cyrul's tuning guide in Trinity's web page, under tips.
What glow plug are you using?? I'm using C7S for non turbo engine. If you have a turbo engine use C7TGF. And if you are using the right plug, try changing it for a new one, sometimes plugs do tend to open (fail) under WOT.
Pressure line should be between 10 to 17 inches long.
Good Luck

x_man I was thinking the same at first but no everything seems fine, I was able to recreate the stall a bit easier today (read below)

Thanks for info afm, Those needle settings for the Sirio carb or the Novarossi one (I am now running the nova carb)

I Decided to play with the fuel/pressure lines today, I made them both really short and after WOT a few times (this is while sitting on starter box) the engine was stopping. Its seems like there is too much pressure in tank after WOT and floods engine at idle (Is this possible?) A few times I believe I stopped it from stalling by pinching the fuel line so my current line of thought is too much pressure in the tank after WOT.

My pressure line was originally 13 inches long, I think I will go a lot longer tomorrow and see how I go..

Ive tried Hot, Cold and Med OS glow plugs, currently back on the Cold ones...

Thanks for the replies. :) This thing is getting me really :flaming:   :flaming: lol..

Try to lean the low neddle or clean the carburator

Manticore, your serious? the one with the felt seal? so If I swap over lid with the rubber seal it will help? hmmm you kidding.. im gonna go slap myself silly.. lol.

yes, i had the same problem with the felt seal which comes with the pro kit. after getting the rubber seal. the problem gone. besides, the pipe that comes with the kit is kind of shitty. that creates too much back pressure.

au_Nightmare 12-31-2003 02:15 AM

Dude, if this lid thing does the trick I owe u big time.. I'll swap the lid over tomorrow..

Yeah the pipe does make a LOT of back pressure so I say I will still need longish pressure line..

Those needle settings will work fine for either carb as a base line. Once you change your tank, as recommended by Manticore, and fit the longer pressure line, stay with the equivalent plug to the Nova C7, and then I insist you follow Josh Cyrul's guide on tuning engines, available at Trinity's web site under tips.

Ok, Ive tried everything so next is a Novarossi C7 plug.. Just got to order some in :(

Maybe the OS plugs (being shorter I believe??) is the problem..

OH!!! definetely, if your engine is a Non-Turbo head engine, OS plugs are shorter than the Sirio and Nova plugs, there is your problem. You could order O'Donell 77 or 99 also, from what i've read they are supposed to be the hot ticket, i've orer some to try.

I'm soo stupid :D I thought "Normal" ment Normal, I didn't realise OS's "Normal" was different to another brands "Normal" until being told via the fourms. LHS only sells OS plugs (Or I would of got some a long time ago when first recommended) so I have just ordered some Novarossi plugs online.. I hope thats the problem, it wouldn't be helping anyway.. Well ya learn something new every day :)
