By the way, do you have any feedback on the Werk's pipe for the NTC3? How does it compare to AE's dual chamber or RDLogic's pipe? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Dave |
Murnan Sirio EVOII
I had a chance to break in my EVOII yesterday at Crystal. I ordered it awhile ago but, I haven't had chance to break it in completely. It has over a gallon through it and the overall powerband is great. It has plenty of bottomend, midrange, and
top end speed. I'm sure that I can get more top end after I adjust my two speed properly. I'm very satisfied with the performance. Originally, I was interested in purchasing the LCM Pro3 but, the Murnan has all the muscle that I was craving. I ran into a problem late in the day. I noticed that after the clutchbell started to heatup, the clutch began to slip. I'm running a three shoe clutch on the NTC3. It has copper springs with (2) 2 1/2mm holes drilled in each shoe. I'm not sure if I should go back to the 2 shoe or if this engine has too much power for this style of clutch. I going to try the 2 shoe again and if all else fails, I'm going to have to shell out $100 for the Yokomo centax. Thanks Uriah for the quality craftmenship. Dave |
glitch44... I run the EVO II also in my G4 and I'm pretty much at Crystal park every weekend... I was going to ask what pipe you're running on your motor, but since you're running yours on the NTC3... That motor runs better on alittle longer pipe then the Associated dual camber pipe... If you're ever at Crystal park, look for the G4 with the big blue head Sirio Screaming around the track... Toys for Tots next weekend... Check it out...
As for your clutch problems... You should really run a proper centex clutch on that car with that kind of motor... Either the Yokomo or Kawahara centex clutch... Both are at Ultimate hobbies.. Good luck. RC_Alan |
rc_alan,
I'll be running next weekend as well. My buddy DJ will be announcing most of the race. I wanted to get some more practice today but, this damn rain. I feel sorry for the offroaders that were scheduled to run TFTs this weekend at Crystal. Hopefully they will be able to reschedule. Anyway, I'll be practicing this Friday, weather permitting. Well, off I go to Ultimate to spend $$$. Some money that the wifey does'nt know about. :sneaky: Late, Dave |
:sneaky: .. You didn't tell the wife??? Dave, I'll try to get some run time in myself Friday, but it's hard when you're working two jobs... I hope the rain let's up some this week and clears out for good for the weekend of the race. You know, I switched carbs on that Sirio EVO II... I had a little trouble at first tuning it and I heard some owners had air leaks, so I put in a Novarossi carb from a NS3 and no problems since... The motor was screaming with 20% fuel while breaking it in and then I've since bumped up the nitro content alittle and made some minor mods to the sleeve... I was going to mod the crank as well, but the power was right were I wanted it to be so I just left it alone... One of the key things about motors is matching it with the right pipe. Nova's run great with the Mugen pipe and the Yokomo Milkie pipe, Picco's with picco pipes and Sirio's with Sirio pipes... but I've found that the STS/RD Logics pipe #22604 is a great match for the Sirio EVO II and the new LC Sirio.. Just passing on alittle info for those looking for a good pipe to go along with to great motors from Sirio... Hope to see you at the TFT's race glitch44... Goodluck and let me know which centex clutch you got for your NTC3...

The S12 TRP E (EFRA spec) crank has 7mm diameter center passage, and turbo scoop doesn't blend into center passage. Resuming: ballistic power, huge top end. AFM |

AFM so whats a TRP PRO I ? when i won the bid i actually thought it was the engine used in the RRR's at the worlds :p also with the evo 2 do i need to mod the conrod for better lubrication? or have the evo 2 fixed this problem over the old sirios with conrod probs. and how are the carbs on the evo 2's? much better than the old leaking models? thanks in advance AFM :) |

In the web page there is some good info and videos on proper break-in and tuning. BTW these engines work best with Sirio's own pipe. AFM |

AFM as you and many others say sirio works best with sirio pipes. i was just wondering if a Nova max pipe works just as well? as its much easier for me to get a hold of them at a reasonable price this is the pipe im talking abouthttp://www.rcaddict.com.au/product_info.php/cPath/10/products_id/9 thanks in advance once again AFM :) |
