Hey guys... I have been looking at the Evo 4 engine... Looks good. Only problem is, I have never had a Sirio and dont know how to set them up. Has anyone tried the Evo 4??? Does it require the Sirio pipe set or can it perform with other pipes like the Skyline VR12 plus??? Sirio plugs a must or can picco based plugs work on the engine? I check all of these before going and buying a new engine. Im feeling the urge to buy a new engine and Im thinking of getting a JL red dot or an Evo 4. Im in no urge to buy this, I just got a relatively new OS TZ and have changed the piston/sleeve for a new one and should hold atleast until summer.

Hey, sorry if it was already covered in an earlier post at all... but... I won a Sirio Evo 3 STI .21 5+2 port motor at the Kyosho Championships yesterday at Rev and was wondering what peoples experience with this motor has been. I saw that Cody King and Ryan Lutz (plus a lot of the other kyosho guys...) were running them. And according to Lutz, he doesn't mod his at all. Those guys were running this same motor in the new st-rr truck and they were ballistic. Some of the only few who dared (or were capable of) tripling into the south 5 jumps and doubling out instead of double-double-single or vice versa... And that was in their truggy! I was planning on dropping it into my 8ight-B and giving it a whirl... I have been running O.S./Novarossi's for awhile and before that, Ninja's. How does this green machine hold up? plus. how do you find the off-white sirio head for it that I saw on some of the Kyosho guys's cars..? I've seen it before, but I believe Levi Jackson was running it. (Isn't he sponsored by O.S.?);)

The Evo III is a solid engine with lots of power. Like any other engine, I take the time to seal up the carb so there is no chance for a fuel or air leak. It makes a big difference. Outside of that, just run it and you'll find that it makes a lot of power. The raw finish head that you've seen is the magnesium head, which I don't think is available yet. Most of the drivers prefer the aluminum anyhow because it cools better.

Highly suggest the sirio pipe combo I tested the skyline pipe & with the sirio it just seemed to produce better results all around as for the plugs you can use the picco plugs/IDM also

Broke in the sti motor today. It ran very well. Not excessive pinch, and idled very very well... After asking around, the common consensus on which turbo plug to use, I decided just to run the same hot P3 plug I've used in my O.S. motors. Used heat-cycle method by idling to temp then flushing with fuel by fattening up top while under half-full throttle. This worked very well with my O.S. Max XZ-28. Worked well again, and cycled much easier than expected. After about 5 tanks of this, I threw it down and put a few more through it, keeping it spitting. After that it just took a couple of hours on top to get it up to 200 and this thing sings! You can tell, its going to be a pleasure to work with. Has to be one of the easiest motors I've ever broken in, and idles without a hiccup. Also seems to have a super smooth powerband. Only time will tell.

Finally got a cance to put the Evo4 on the track motor is fantastic plenty of power pulled a 16.5 lap & came off the track @ 200 deg leaned it out & tighten the clutch down a 1/2 turn to get more bottom end pulled a 16.1 @240 degree I commonly like to run my sirio's @ 270 but with it being a fresh motor I played it safe & will crank it down a little more @ the next race motor was tested this weekend @ kissimmee raceway & I can't wait to see what it will feel like @ 270deg:D

GM..did manage to test it with the Sirio Power Clutch? How is it compared to the Kyosho Clutch? I have tested my Evo4 with the kyosho clutch and the acceleration was fantastic, very little wheel spin and the middle to top acceleration was unbelievable. Not to mentioned the runtime on this engine is exceptionally good. On a 16.sec track/layout i managed to do a 7 mins.:D:D

Picked up The Sirio Pipe/header combo to go with this engine today. Wow, what a top end! It finally came alive somewhere around 5 min. into the main at Rev Saturday night. - it came off a bit warm though. But I dont think this will be a problem. But I do want to get to the track early next trip to figure out the tune fully. - I switched to Byrons 30% from werks - Every store around is out completely of the werks, so it looks like I'll just be switching back full time. One weird thing though. When I first got the car on the bench and running, it kept gasping like it was asking for more and more fuel. (lean on bottom...?) So I fattened it up more and more till I had backed the lsn out prob three and a half full turns... Still happening just as bad... So I turned it back almost all the way in to stock and it came back to idle better and stopped doing it. strange. I will take more time next time, and hopefully I didnt hurt the motor much at all with that tuning hiccup and the higher temp (about 260) after the main. I actually broke around 5 min. in, so that was prob a good thing. Any ideas how to reset needles and start the tuning process over?

we all use sirio #7 here in sydney and ive also used the same at qld but you will have to look overseas to buy them because there are none in australia:nod:
