Props to Monty for doing a great job on his motors, I ran the H.E.S. Toro last weekend at the Futaba challenge and it was flawless. I was running the 6.5 restrictor with an ofna 053 pipe with 30%byrons and pitting at 10 minutes during the main. Actually during practice I twice got over 12:20 out of it before I ran out of fuel and the motor absolutely screams, anyone who purchases this motor will be very pleased. I ended up finishing fourth after I bobbled in the last corner before the loop otherwise I would have finished 3rd in expert arena truck, not to bad considering I qual'd 4th but was hacked into 11th after the first lap:lol:.

Monty, the FMS is on it's way to you tomorrow. I understand it's got a little more bottom than the Toro and I wondered which pipe would give it a little more grunt down low and less top as my home track doesn't have a very long straight, even with the smaller restrictor in my Toro I can't use all the top that it has.

try a header such as the one adam likes , the 41021 with a 9853 (or the ofna 053) and you will get a little more bottom but will sacrifice some top end performance . it will fall flat in the upper rpm's

Martin did you race the truggy in your avatar at the Omaha RC Pro Series? If so that Toro sure was torquey. Someone pointed your truck out to me and I got to marshall 1-2 of your qualifiers. That truck was off the hook in my eyes. FAST!!

Hey, just checked out the 21-5K on your website again and was wondering if you had it in the turbo version or if you even liked the turbo over the standard plug? I put a turbo head on my RB WS7II and it woke it up!
TIA Joe

But I was thinking that with this engine a standard plug would be better in a buggy with its more linear feel over the turbo.
TIA Joe

Yep I was there, the bottom is smooth but plenty strong and when it gets into the midrange look out.

OK guys, all this talk on here made me go ahead and order a 21-5K with the HES mods and R2R break-in, now just to wait on it to get here:cry:
The website suggest a 063 pipe, It looks like on here a 053 pipe is best, which one? And I have a almost new RB2045 pipe, wouldn't that work as good or better than a 053? it is the pipe of choice for 5-7 port RB's and they are Nova based engines.
