Got to run the nova this last weekend finally! Engine was PERFECT!!! Didn't take long to tune it in and it ran flawless. Did have a flame out in the main after my first pit, but I'm pretty sure that was a glo plug issue. Power was awesome and got great mileage too!

If I go from a .21 plus 4 to a Roma .25 in my truggy. Are most finding you need to go up a tooth on the clutch bell for the larger displacement engines?

I was wondering what actually does a houston tuned engine have over stock?

Planning to purchase a P5LXT and wanted to know what the Houston tune does for the engine.

If this has been asked earlier, please point me to the post and I'll read it.

Can someone explain the difference from monty's bench break in and ready to race service. And what is the procedures needed to send a couple of engines for some huston love. Look forward to using hustons services, have read nothing but good for years now.

I got the bench break in method on the motor I got from Monty this year. It gets you passed the hard, tool throwing, cursing part of break in. All you have to do is preheat the engine to 200*, Fire it up on the box and drive easy for the first 3 or 4 tanks using low throttle. Next 3 or 4 tanks a little more stress on the engine by going a little faster. This process repeats until around 12 tanks you are getting to WOT throttle for short 1-2 second pulls. Keeping the tamps between 190* and 210*. That will be about 1500cc's of fuel and you can start to race it. After about a gallon you can start to race tune it. At about 2 gallons it should drop its nuts, need a slight retune and be a screamer with what I consider to be perfect all around power that gets 11 to 12 minutes on a tank. I don't know anyone that has gotten the R2R package yet but I think it gets you closer to the 1 gallon mark on your break in. THe time and money saved is probably worth it to get the R2R service.

By the way my first 8 tanks took approx 17 minutes per tank to complete and I did 2 tanks back to back. What I thought was going to be 10 to 15 minutes of running each time turned into a half an hour or more.
