talked with Monty today...this guy knows his sh&#. If you have ANY questions about any motors just ask him. Straight up and honest answers. Nobody can ask for anything more than that!

So Monty, on the Nova carbs (long needle) the process for a race tune from a factory setting would be in this order:
  1. Set HSN and LSN to factory settings
  2. Set idle gap to .5mm and fire up engine
  3. Get engine to operating temp
  4. Tune LSN to get consistent, steady idle (20 sec or more)
  5. Hit the track and tune HSN to kill
  6. Come back to LSN for fine tune and consistent high idle
  7. Adjust idle screw to drop idle
  8. Do a couple WOT passes and if idle briefly hangs ( 2-4 seconds) richen up the HSN
Does this sound about right?

Nice box pics there Monty,

Yes the stock wire in there is indeed junk. Can't wait to see that thing in person.

Runner Time fuel

Hello.
I am using Runner Time Top 25 fuel.
The fuel causes carbon build up and makes the piston surface temporarily black.
What is the effect for the engine ?

Just means it has good amounts of castor Ahmet

As long as I the fuel protects the moving parts all is well , I will try and research the fuel

Hey Monty i picked up a slightly used team 21-4 c and the previous owner put a O.S. P3 plug in it, did it damage the head button and can i switch it back to a Nova. plug or Odonnell?

Thanks John

if you wanna switch back to nova/odonnell plugs i would recommend a new head button but if you wanna just use os plugs , all is well

not saying you cant use nova plugs in it again but yes the OS plugs are ever so slightly different and do deform the seal area and threads
