i add a .10mm shim to the 5 ports because for some reason novarossi doesn't but they do on the plus4 . make it .80mm total dave .

let me know what you think after you get it all dialed in ;)

i am sure you will be plenty happy

what are the drawbacks of not running the .10 shim? ....and what are the benifits of running the .10 shim ?

Monty -

Just wanted to drop a line and let you know the BF21 you did for me rips - it is just getting past the 3 quarts mark - still running it fat - but it goes like mad - I can't wait till it drops it's nuts  !!

Thanks for the GREAT work!!!:nod::nod:

BTW:
And my son-in-law is loving the P5XLT he's got too -

plug

I have a new in box but made in 2001 Novarossi P5X that I was running for a bit until I broke the mounting tab but what I want to know is what was the stock plug that came in the box with the motor, it came in a plastic bag. Thanks Marcus

Your crazy marcus!! LOL

I am pretty sure it is the older c6g special plug that used to be good but don't quote me on that ;)

Awesome Jeff !!!!!

Thank you for the feedback , I love to hear back from the guys I get goin with the novarossi quality engines . Keep at it and you can start to lean it out a little at the 3 quart mark if you want to . Did you race at trcr yesterday ?

Drawbacks ; you will cause more stress to the rod/wristpin by leaving the compression where it is at , especially during break in . This will also create more predetination resulting in more carbon build up and making the plugs foul out more often . Although you can get away with running the engine as it comes just fine , you can make it better by adding the shim.

Benefits: smoother power ( plus 4 has the shim already added;) ) , you will also gain runtime by adding the shim , more efficient operation of the engine by less predetination and pretty much the opposite of what I said in previous paragraph zixxer.

These recommendations more for running 30% fuel which is for the most part what we here in america run

I really like to play with tuning options that are doable by most end users rather than mod the hell out of an engine and tell you to run it . I also believe that engines should be maintained and are rebuildable if you know what you are doing .

Hope this helps,
Monty
